Epiphone adds even more potency to that legacy with the new Les Paul Custom GX, part of the Prophecy Collection, designed with the power and speed that Shredders demand. With its solid Mahogany body with highly-figured quilt Maple top and glued-in Mahogany neck, the Les Paul Custom GX has its roots firmly planted in the tradition Les Paul started at the Epiphone factory when he invented the solid body electric guitar. But that’s where tradition ends. A 24-fret Ebony fingerboard with seductive “blade” inlays and jumbo frets give you two full octaves. Add to that, Gibson USA's DirtyFingers™ humbucking pickups which have been called “the critical unique between power and dirt. Because of its aggressive tone Dirty Fingers™ pickups are perfect for those who play tuned down nu-metal and other equally hard-hitting styles. Epiphone takes it one step further by adding coil-tapping in the form of a push/pull volume control to allow for single-coil isolation of each pickup. The results are a guitar with amazing tonal versatility. As with the other Prophecys, Epiphone new StrapLocks provide security for this axe while a LockTone tune-o-matic/stopbar ensure massive sustain. Controls include a neck volume, bridge volume and 3-way pickup selector. Case not included.
