Emagic Logic Audio Gold 5.0 (Mac)
Especially conceived for price conscious project studios that wish to offer professional quality without using exclusive digital audio hardware. A versatile tool for demanding MIDI/audio production with DTP quality notation editing and printing.
With a virtually inexhaustible variety of editing options available in the linked Event, Matrix, Score and Hyper editors - as well as the Environment and Arrange window - Logic Gold supports almost any working style with ease.
The difference when compared to the larger, more expensive, Platinum version is primarily the lack of support for TDM audio hardware. With a maximum track count of 64 stereo or mono audio tracks and virtually unlimited MIDI tracks, even the most extravagant products can be accomplished with Logic Gold 5. Digital audio hardware systems offering up to 24 Bit/96 audio resolution are fully supported, and can even be supplemented with up to 64 extra native audio tracks. And with a generous quantity of superb-sounding Emagic effect plug-ins already included, Logic Gold 5 is not only the ideal solution for desktop computers, but is also the premiere choice for the self-contained mobile laptop studio.
Arrange window
As the main workplace, the Arrange window displays individual MIDI and audio tracks as well as folders, showing position and length. Record multiple tracks in a single pass. Tracks can be individually zoomed, soloed or muted. Quickly edit audio regions with non-destructive fades and cross-fades. Multiple synchronization options are provided for post-production work.
Adaptive Track Mixer and Automation
MIDI and audio tracks are mixed using this virtual mixing console. The vertical order of the tracks in the Arrange window is automatically reflected in the Adaptive mixer. The track-based automation with sample-accurate 32 Bit value resolution allows easy and exact recording, playback and graphical editing of every mixer control movement including all parameters of instruments and other plug-ins. Parameters are displayed with full name and value.
Realtime effects and Audio Instruments
The comprehensive integrated effects system offers 8 sends, 8 inserts and 4 EQs per audio track. The 42 built-in, superb quality Emagic plug-ins or 3rd-party VST Plug-Ins can be used as insert effects in inputs, tracks, busses and outputs. Up to 24 sample-accurate Audio Instrument channels allow insertion of 3 included Emagic synthesizers, as well as optional synthesizers and samplers such as the ES2, EVP88, EXS24 or VST2 instruments, for seamless integration into Logic's mixer with all effects available for creative processing.
Sample Editor
The fully integrated Stereo Sample Editor provides destructive editing of audio recordings, and contains many creative and practical options. In addition, the Digital Factory offers extensive editing tools to energize and compress audio or alter its tempo and pitch with Harmonic Correction*, turn monophonic audio tracks into score, quantize and/or extract the groove from audio recordings. There's even support for the file-based third party AudioSuite and Premiere plug-in formats.
* Formant correction developed in co-operation with Prosoniq
Editor window
All edit windows are optimized for their particular tasks and can be linked to display the contents of sequences, and most also feature Scroll in Play. The powerful Score editor is linked to both MIDI and audio, and provides many layout options for the editing and printing of individual voices, whole arrangements, percussion parts and instrument groups. The Hyper Editor presents note and controller data as vertical bars and can be used as, for example, the ultimate drum editor. The Event List displays MIDI events, sequences and regions numerically, while the Matrix editor can display multiple selections, showing notes as a horizontal bar graphic (piano roll). With multiple undo it is possible to retrace the last 30 editing steps; the freedom to experiment, with the option to easily
