The Electro-Voice ZX1 is the new standard of no compromise audio performance and versatility for compact sound reinforcement.

The high-tech enclosure is lightweight and extremely durable. The enclosure geometry has been engineered to provide maximum rigidity and acoustic performance. The velocity compensated port design overcomes the limitation of many small loudspeakers and enables exceptional low frequency response without vent noise. The ZX1’s long excursion, high output 8" woofer with a weatherized treated cone delivers smooth low frequency performance with exceptional reliability.

A sophisticated crossover network integrates it with the DH2005, a 1-inch voice coil true compression driver for maximum output with extended frequency response. Full-bandwidth overload protection is provided for reliable, long term operation without audible effect.

I mainly use these for speaking events. Two of these will easily accommodate a crowd of 200-250 indoors.Mobility is a little cumbersome so I use a cart to transport them around. They are built tuff.

I was shopping for floor monitors, and was cycling through all available options. For grins the Sales manager suggested trying these. I was shocked by not only the sound quality, but the projection as well. I now use these for both floor monitors at gigs, and as my main speakers for the house.

I just had to comment on these speakers because I've been looking for a small lightweight PA monitor for a while and nothing fit the bill until heard the ZX1.
Our band was spending way to much time lugging very heavy equipment to gigs and that is not fun. At 18lbs, i'll carry these little guys any where; and the sound is crisp, clear and as loud as you need it unless you're playing in an Arena and we aren't. I'm not a technical guy, but I know good sound when i hear it and for the cash outlay and more importantly the size and weight ... this a very desirable system.

I was hesitant about 8" drivers, for on sale 249 each I got 4,
run 2 per side daisy chained to 4 ohms, 2 matching sb-122 subs
under the table while the zx-1s are on my lighting truss.
LOUD, INVISIBLE, CRYSTAL CLEAR AND LIGHT AS A FEATHER!
1 set of these against any sub 300.00 12 or 15? ZX-1 WILL
be clearer, cleaner and as loud any day for under 300!
Don't bother with ANYTHING else, 2 of these and 2 sb-122 subs
are compact light and LOUD AND CLEAR! EV? What did you expect?

I use the ZX-1 for event production. Great little speaker: clear sound, ease of transport, good frequency response....just don't push it too hard, it will distort and you'll use drivers. The cabinet does get beaten up without cases or covers.

I use this spaeaker as a monitor evey night I work. It is the BEST monitor EVER!!!!
It is great for live sound as a MAIN speaker also. We do smaller venues and use two as our "MAIN SPEAKERS" !!! we add an 18" sub and the PA is "PERFECT"
There is nothing thaty is not so great.
The other important feature is.."IT IS LIGHT TO CARRY! about 10 -20 lbs!!
