ESP MH53 LTD Electric Guitar (Black)

Classic metal styling meets modern ergonomic body shapes in the MH-53 from ESP. This affordably-priced axe is equipped with a hum-single-single pickup lineup for a wide variety of tones, while the licensed Floyd Rose tremolo makes for some expressive playing with the confidence of staying in tune. The body is made from basswood and is contoured for even lighter weight and more comfortable playing. It also has die-cast tuners, a 24-fret maple fingerboard, and black nickel hardware. Case not included.

I just recently got this guitar, and it is good all around, but i was especially impressed with the speed of the neck, i couldn't believe it. it does sometimes get a little uncomfortable (for me at least) to play sitting down for to long with this guitar. the Floyd rose licensed trem bar works great and i love the pick up arrangement except for when i play the neck pick up with distortion, then the sound gets kind of muddy. but if you put it on clean on any pick up, and distorted anywhere besides the neck pick up, its amazing. which is good for me because i love distortion.

I'll start out with the guitar's cons. First of all, when it came, on of the nails on the boards on the back of the body that covers all the electronics, etc. were messed up. Another thing is that there is no pick-guard, and I strum really hard. But it's not really that big of a deal because the scratches are TINY and not noticeable except when you look at it in a whole different lighting. There are many good things such as the looks, tremolo, and contrast between the fretboard and body color.

The guitar looks awesome and the tremolo bar is really good. It sounds awesome, too. The thing that concerns me the most is the way you have to tune it. It's really a hassle for me, but I just have to get used to it. The guitar has a locking nut, and when you tune one strings, it affects all the other strings. I'm not sure if it's like this for all the other guitars, but it's still kind of an annoyance. The guitar has fret buzz, but it's not that loud. (It's just a TINY sound)

I play Melodic Death Metal and some Hardcore stuff, and I abuse the hell out of the tremolo. I've yet to drop out of tune even a little, and there was no fret buzzing at all. Its a little lighter than I'm used to, but it can take a beating. The neck plays like silk, the maple is real quality stuff. The only, ONLY complaint I have about this guitar is the Neck p/u is pretty muddy when distorted (on clean it goes back to being amazing.) I was looking for a budget freindly guitar for metal with a tremolo, and I defnitely found it. I love this guitar. And her name is Lola.
