While fads and fashions may come and go, the true classics will always be in demand. It's been nearly a decade since DigiTech introduced the mind bending effects of the Whammy pedal to the world, and that original design has been in demand ever since.

The same smooth pitch bends, rich detuning, accurate dive bombs, and fast tracking harmony shifts that were responsible for the instant success of the original Whammy pedal have been resurrected in the new incarnation of the DigiTech Whammy Pedal. Painstaking efforts were made to recreate the exact sounds that made the DigiTech Whammy such a popular and indispensable effect.

Every feature of the original WH-1 has been included in the new Whammy, from the rotary preset selection knob to the Ferrari red color, from the mechanical momentary switch to the exact same interval selections. However, the Whammy has added the versatility of MIDI control, making this timeless effect flexible enough for any situation.

The "Dive Bomb" Preset gives the effect of a Floyd Rose whammy bar pushed all the way to the body of the guitar, and 16 LEDs provide a visual indication of your Preset selection even on dimly lit stages.

This pedal has some great amazing features, the tone is not like the original Wh-1 pedal but itl do. i can see why Tom Morello, Dimebag Darrel and many other musicians use this unique sound. the drop tune feature is very useful when you need to drop tune a full step without taking too much time. the switch is sensitive enough for quick access( i recommend wearing shoes) i love the design of it because its similar to the design of the WH-1 by color and almost indestructable design. i reccomend this to anyone to add this to their pedal rigs.

I bought this pedal about a week ago, and I used it all week. My problem with the pedal is that when you pull the pedal back up from being down with the divebomb, octave down/up or drop tune options, it still makes the tuning of your guitar sound slightly off since it is so precise. Obviously you could hit the switch which turns it on and off to avoid this problem, but it would take too much time to learn how to hit the switch and the pedal at the right time. The sound quality is good but not perfect. Another problem I have with this pedal is that if you are using the octave options, anything you can't do with the pedal should in my opinion not be played on a standard electric guitar. If you want these settings for sqeals and harmonics, it would make more sense to save $200 and just learn how to do that with a whammy bar. The harmony settings are good, they come in handy when your band is not around and they have excellent sound quality. My suggestion is if you have an extra $200 and you really need something for harmonizing that badly you should buy it, but if you're only buying it for the octave changing and tuning options, save your money.

this is a great whammy pedal. the harmonizer is kind of difficult to work. but not hard after u get it down. octaves sound good. its also used by some of the greatest guitarists. dimebag darell, sam totman and herman li from dragonforce. its also affordable. i use it to play metallica or write my own songs but what ever works for u. if your lookin for the best get digitech.

This pedal is amazing and will keep me occupied for months..theres no other pedal like it which is why its so great. Some of the octaves sound like Jimi Hendrix stuff which is great while you can make it so it sounds like some good old pantera. I can see why people like Tom Morello and Dimebag Darrel used this pedal..i highly recommend it and im sure you would be impressed if you got it.

All Digitech mutiprocessors--RP and GNX units-- the Whammy, and the JamMan, have a one year warranty from the manufacturer. All X-Series pedals and analog distortions(Bad Monkey, etc.)have a one year warranty, but if the new owner registers online at digitech.com, the warranty goes to 5 years on the X-Series and analog distortions only.
