Danelectro Modified Factory Spec 1959 DC Reissue Electric Guitar
Danelectro proudly presents the 50th Anniversary edition of its famous double cutaway guitars, first made in 1959.
One of the most coveted guitars on the planet is constructed simply of wood, vinyl, masonite and Formica; just like the originals with it's classic seal pickguard. The '59's lipstick style Alnico pickups provide that distinctive Dano twang. The Danelectro 59-DC uses a three-way toggle switch as a tone selector and features "concentric" stacked knobs.
In the lower switch position, the tone control functions normally. In the middle position, the tone control is bypassed entirely. In the top position, the tone control rolls off lows instead of highs, creating a sound similar to that of a bridge pickup. The pickups are wired in series, producing a big punchy sound with more output and midrange than individual pickup settings and eliminating hum. A warmer wind on these pickups increases the output while producing a less high-end tone.
And just like previous Danelectro limited models, these will sell out fast and quickly become collectibles. In typical Dano tradition, these are priced right and within reach of most any budget. These tone-ful wonders are loved and played by some of the greatest guitarists of all time. Originals will set you back thousands... if you can find one!
