Yamaha DTXTREME III Special Electronic Drum Set

Standard Set

The Special configuration combines the innovative hex rack, four toms, snare, three cymbals, hi-hat, and kick. The cymbal, hi-hat, and kick pads have been refined to such a high degree that they feel even more realistic. The pads bring out the maximum capability of the module while the HEXRACK delivers solid support. It's a dramatic enhancement of functionality that'll create serious grooves and help players express themselves with more range than ever before.

Special Set Components: DTXT3 module, HXR4LD Rack, 2 PCY135 cymbal pads, PCY155 cymbal pad, RHH135 Hi Hat pad, KP125 Kick pad, TP120SD snare pad, 4 TP100 Tom pads, 2 CH750 and 1 CHH755 cymbal holders, HS740A hi hat stand, SS662 snare stand, and cabling system. Double Bass drum pedal shown is not included.

Realistic Feel

MOTIF Engine

Yamaha transplanted the heart of Yamaha's MOTIF synthesizer into the DTXTREME III, making the melodic instruments sound so realistic you would swear that you are playing with a live band!

Originally developed for Yamaha acoustic drums, the innovative Hex Rack provides a stable, portable, expandable platform for DTXTREME III.

Demo Songs

Yamaha enlisted the help of some of their top artists to put the DTXTREME III through its places, creating a series of demo songs that show just how amazing this kit is. If you are up for a challenge, play along and see how it feels trying to hang with the best.

DTXTREME III has demo songs played by Tommy Aldridge and Akira Jimbo, as well as drum-solo performances of Dave Weckl, John Robinson and Russ Miller. It also incorporates 44 compositions for your practice in various genres, inclUding rock, jazz and hip-hop. DTXTREME III has enabled drum minus one-a feature unique to MIDI data--and the ability to practice only with the bass sound or at an adjusted tempo. Addltionally, keyboard sounds can be transferred from the MOTIF. DTXTREME III offers dramatically realistic sound, due in part to the high-quality effects unit and "Keyboard-Mega Voice Technology" incorporating various types of waves - each of which has difierent performance method.

Sound

The sound has been completely updated from the previous model. Thanks to a newly developed sound engine equipped with a whopping 205MB of WAVE ROM including many of Yamaha's hi-quality AWM2 samples. Realism should be exactly that: realistic. Stored within DTXTREME III are 50-kits comprising

expertly engineered drum and percussion sounds, all available for easy recall. With this system you'll have the sounds you need for any genre of music, anytime.

It doesn't stop there. The XA (Expanded Articulation) makes it possible to create a slightly different

sampling sound with each stroke of a stick, even if you strike with precisely the same force. This provides more natural sound throughout the drumkit, from the quickest single-stroke or crush roll to the rattle of a close hi-hat and the legato of the ride cymbal. Also, DTXTREME III provides 51 variation effects that can be used for each kit in addition to reverb and chorus. At last, you can create original sounds that are exactly as you've imagined them.

Metronome

DTXTREME III is equipped with a metronome function that lets you set the click at adjustable intervals in accordance with the note or key signature. This function not only lets you set the pitch of each click sound but can also change the accent position of the clicking sound within ihe measure. Moreover, with its "measure-break" function you can set it leave out the clicks entirely for certain measures! DTXTREME III even has a training function called "groove check" that monitors the accuracy of the timing of impact against each pad. Further, while the rhythm gate function ensures the most accurate rimshots possible, you can have fun while you hone your skills and check the accuracy of YOUR groove!

USB

USB connectivity means the ultimate in expandability for DTXTREME III. DTXTREME III comes with two USB terminals: USB TO DEVICE and USB TO HOST, By connecting USB TO DEVICE with an external memory device, the setup information for the main unit can be saved. This makes it easy to ensure your favorite setup for any situation, whether it's a live performance, a session or a jam. Directly connecting the main unit to a PC via USB TO HOST lets you link with DAW (music production) software and record the performance information as you go. Moreover, the data created using the DAW software can be replayed in the main unit.

Drums:

TP100 and TP120SD

The TP120SD is a 12" 3-zone pad, and the TP100 is a 10" 3-zone pad. They can be used for open/closed rim, as well as for the head. Tuning and snap adjustment are easily accomplished with the pad controller.

PCY155 and PCY135 Cymbal Pads

DTXTREME III offers a choice of 15" and 13" cymbal pads. Both sizes have the 3-zone structure in which each area of the pad, edge and bell produces a different tone. The natural "vibration" of the live cymbal sound can be faithfully reproduced.

KP125 Kick Pad

The kick pad is newly enlarged, so your playing will be rock-steady even when you use double pedals. Also, due to the improved response DTXTREME III will faithfully reproduce the input of each beat.

RHH135 Hi Hat Pad

DTXTREME III features a newly developed moving-type hi-hat pad that achieves the natural feel of pedal action. It gives you fine control over the range of sounds, from quick-and-decisive to soft-and-subtle. You can even play "foot splash"!

HXR4LD Rack

This quality piece of equipment has been exclusively created for Special Set, and the hexagonal shape (HEX) provides maximum strength and stability. HEXRAOK features pro-level specifications for players and situations that allow no compromise. With this system, you can make those fine adjustments to suit your needs.
