Newly designed and hand-crafted by the luthiers at Cremona, the Cremona Premier Novice SV-115 Violin Outfit is a Sam Ash exclusive! Select solid spruce tops and solid maple backs are expertly hand-carved and graduated for the best tone. The genuine ebony trimmings throughout provide beauty as well as reliability.
Special care is given to all aspects of setup—from the accurately planed fingerboard to the hand-fitted deluxe Cremona VP-202 2-star bridge. Each SV-115 is thoroughly adjusted by our San Francisco team of luthiers prior to shipment, and every outfit meets or exceeds the industry standard M.E.N.C. specifications.
An important selling point is the ebony “Kaufmann” style chinrest—a classic design that is low and very comfortable. The improved Anton Breton VP-61 alloy tailpiece has tuning screw adjusters that turn smoothly and easily. The bow is select Brazilwood with ebony and nickel-silver mountings and fitted with genuine unbleached Mongolian hair. Each bow is tested for stiffness and resiliency and possesses the firmness and playing qualities that will please teacher and student alike.
We believe that the inclusion of D’Addario Prelude steel strings is an important breakthrough at this price point. The tone and playing qualities of these strings are vastly superior to the strings commonly found on competitors’ products, and the student’s progress will be materially enhanced.
