Squier Classic Vibe 60's Jazz Bass

The Squier Classic Vibe Series reflects that simultaneous commitment to excellence, value and ‘vibe’. Mirroring classic Fender designs, the Classic Vibe offering is not intended to be era or vintage correct – but rather imparting the ‘vibe’ of a classic Fender design. Each with distinctive feature set combinations – all adding up to one classic looking instrument. Great sound, vintage looks, unbeatable value – Classic Vibe!

The Classic Vibe Jazz Bass® ‘60s has all of the deluxe elements it’s big brother Fender® did when first introduced in the 1960s – groovy off-set waist design, narrow width-fast action maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, two custom single-coil pickups with AlNiCo V magnets, individual volume controls that allow players to ‘solo’ either pickup’s sound or blend them together to create different sounds and a master tone control for overall tone shaping.

The look is Fender® all the way - classic Olympic White over basswood and traditional tortoise shell pickguard with thumbrest. Features include a HiMass bridge with brass barrel saddles, rosewood equipped 20 fret vintage tint gloss maple neck with the modern playability of a 9.5” radius and vintage-style frets. Tonal versatility and an up front sound – quick and punchy with enough clarity and harmonics to slap and pop. Case not included.

WOW, this bass ROCKS!! I got it a while ago, almost a year, and it still sounds great. This bass sounds great for slap and finger. I've played many other basses, and I'd say this one is right up there with the Fender American Jazzes.

i opened this bass on christmas, and immediatly noticed the head and neck of the guitar. they're polished beautifully. although there were fingerprints on the tuning keys and around the knobs, there were none anywhere else. it has great string action, unlike my other three squiers and the strings are very easy on the fingers (I find most other strings make my fingers get blisters faster) the sound is great and full (I am using a line 6 low down studio 110 bass amp). the only thing is that i didn't find much of a sound difference between either pickup. but when they are both turned up, its sounds awesome. It stays in tune and can sound just like any p-bass, if you fiddle with the knobs for a bit. overall, its a great bass with a broad variety of sound for a great price.

I received my bass and immediatley saw scratches and fingerprints on the pannel where the volume and tone knobs are. Also, there were fingerprints all over the tuning keys that were impossible to get off, almost as if someone with something sticky on their fingers had handled it. There was a really bad buzz that came from the headstock. I couldn't find out what it was so I took it to a music shop that promptly told me the tuning keys were total junk. You could move them freely back and forth on the headstock. Now I have to send it back, or get new tuning keys. The bass plays amazingly well, but the quality of the one I recieved totally sucked. You should do your research before buying this bass.

IT'S A SQUIRE!?! SERIOUSLY?!?!
I have been saving up to get a new Fender American, Vintage, or some such high end sweetness to replace my custom USA Hamer as my primary bass. While at the store I saw this beauty and decided why not at least play around for a sec. From first go it was amazing! I have been playing for right at 30 years and I have played and owned everything from bottom of the barrel to elite custom stuff.
The neck is smooth as butter, no buzz any where along the fretboard. The electronics are fine with no scratch or noise. I may some day down the road swap out the pickups for Fralin's but it is not required. The fit and finish rival what you get on the Fender American stuff.
I love the white/turtle combo but I know that the lack of color choice may sway some folks away so that is my only complaint. I hope that they over look that and give this thing a try. I can't put mine down.

I totally agree with the previous review, this is one great bass. When I played it for the first time, I was totally amazed. I originally bought it as a back up to my other Fender, but it has quickly taken over as my primary bass. The olympic white and the pick guard make this a great looking bass, then you play it and you are floored. If you are looking for a great playing, great looking bass at a killer price, do not hesitate, buy this bass!

when i saw this at the website i said wow thts a nice looking fender jazz bass. so i clicked on it, and to my suprise! its a squier! i swear the only difference between this and the fender american standard series is the pricetag!
this surely changed my opinion about squier! i think theyre finally figuring out how to make basses now!
