The Desolation Skatecaster SK-1 ST takes its inspiration from the highly distinctive Charvel Surfcaster of the early 1990s. Featuring a double-cutaway design mahogany body and an offset wasit, the Charvel SK-1 ST Desolation Series Electric Guitar is a no-nonsense workhorse that hard-rockers will love. The Skatecaster SK-1 ST is built for speed and for comfort. The set-through maple/mahogany neck boasts a scalloped heel for easier access to the upper register and has been shaped in to an extra thin profile for high velocity soloing. A bound compound radius (12”-16”) rosewood fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets will facilitate effortless string bending and take you far beyond the tonal possibilities of traditional single-cutaway guitars.
The Charvel Skatecaster SK-1 ST is equipped with dual EMG active humbucking pickups with three-way toggle switching. The simplified controls feature individual volume and tone controls for each pickup and a 3-way pickup selector switch. Rounding out the Black Nickel hardware are as set of three-on-a-side locking Charvel tuners, and a rigid Charvel bridge specially designed for compound-radius fingerboards with an accompanying stopbar tailpiece to maximize tuning stability and will withstand even the most aggressive soloing.
