Yamaha CG171SF Flamenco Nylon String Acoustic Guitar
The CG171SF is designed to meet the demands of today's flamenco guitarists with its lower action and superb craftsmanship. Slightly thinner sides and back as well as a thinner finish deliver improved response. This design along with the use of a solid Sitka Spruce top on Cypress back and sides gives the CG171SF greater volume as well as extended playing comfort. Final touches include wood binding on the body, classical style gold-tone tuners on a slotted headstock, traditional rosette, Nato neck, Rosewood fingerboard and bridge, transparent pickguard and a natural gloss finish. Protected by Yamaha's Limited Lifetime Warranty. Case not included.

There is no mistake. Having no electronics is a pro and a con. The Con is that you have to make it which will limit you as far as performing as you'd have to remain sitting or standing in one spot. The pro to it is that it sounds better. Also,the electonics won't deaden the sound of your golpes and you won't have to worry if the internal mike or piezo pickup will reproduce the golpe sound properly. Obviously, a very important part of flamenco. I tried out $500-$900 Cordoba guitars and was awed with how poorly they were constructed. Simply put, this is the best flamenco guitar under $1000. Amazing that it is only [$].

The figerboard is very obviously ebony and not rosewood. Ebony is more expensive and harder, and black in color. (I confirmed this with a call to Yamaha. Before the call I e-mailed them and they wrote back asking me to send them a picture and the serial number. Don't they even know what they make their guitars out of? Too many factories in China?)The guitar has a very nice sound. The finish on the bottom back neck is not perfect, but close. The neck is not one piece, but at least two maybe three. The action is fast, and the guitar is easy to play and a lot of fun. I look forward to comming home from work to play it. This weekend I must have been staring at it because my girlfriend told me that I never look that lovingly at her.
