Great for recording vocals, acoustic instruments and for use as overhead drum mics, the Samson C01 large diaphragm condenser microphone is accurate, detailed, smooth with warm bass and extended top end. This sturdy microphone has a large 19mm diaphragm that produces a smooth flat frequency response. It features a heavy gauge mesh grill screen, a gold plated XLR connecter and an LED indicating 48V phantom power. The unit includes a swivel stand mount and an optional SP01 shock mount is available.

Hands on. I purchased a rode nt1a and a akg 120 and we all know the price of the rode.The sound from the rode was too deep rather up close or away from the mic. The akg sounds too mechanical.
Do not get me wrong,depending on what you are recording,there is a mic that will suit your needs.Need 1 the rode( singers with high voices)
Need two the akg ( instruments )

But the samson puts out what you put in.It's accurate in every way.R&B,Country,Rap,Pop,Gospel,Guitar,Drums,whatever.........

PRICE DOES'NT MATTER....SOUND DOES!!!!!!

Simple mic for my home studio. Only tried vocals so far. Now I can say to all my old recordings that it was the microphone's fault. For others new to condensers (like I was) it needs to be phantom powered trough the XLR.

well i would most defenetly recommend this condenser microphone to anyone who is starting a home or bedroom studio...very smooth and accurate when it comes to vocals or anything you can think of. if your planing to pic this mic up make sure you get te spider shockmount, thats great too...i have had many condenser mics but this cuts it for me, i would buy 10 of them if need be. with 48v power this monster is ready to go.

I've recently purchased the CO1 mic. For my vocals the sound was very accurate and smooth. I reccomend this mic if anyone is workng within a budget.
