Creative guitarists! Meet your new best friend! The Boss RC20XL Loop Station is a floor-pedal phrase recorder capable of accurately capturing your live guitar performances and creating up to 11 loops at the same time.
With the Boss RC20XL Loop Station, operation is as simple as can be! Just connect the Boss RC20XL pedal to your guitar with a standard guitar cable, select a phrase location, press the mode button until you see the red indicator light and step on the left foot pedal to record a phrase with digital precision. Hit the pedal again to stop recording.
Ready to overdub loop #2? Easy! Just step on the left pedal again and you’re now recording another phrase without erasing the first. Loopy! You can record a phrase and save it to the RC20XL’s internal memory. A built-in Auto Quantize feature helps lock in your tempo so your multi-loop masterpiece has rock-solid timing and keeps things “in the pocket”.
The Boss RC20XL allows for up to 16 minutes of total recording time. You can loop to your heart’s content until you reach the 16-minute memory max. That’s a lot of looping! When using it together with the optional Boss FS-6 dual footswitch you can toggle, hands-free forward and backward through your saved phrases.
The handy Undo feature allows you to easily remove your most recent overdub so it’s easy to get your loop creation just the way you want. You can also change the speed of a loop by simply tapping on the Tap Tempo button, allowing you to slow down or speed up a phrase without changing its pitch. This is a great way to learn your favorite speed guitar riff as it’s playing back at a slower tempo. You can now decipher what notes are being played which were previously blazing past quickly and hard to detect…Amazing!
The Boss RC20XL offers 3 “stop options” to bring your live performance to a smooth, crowd-pleasing ending. Hit the foot pedal and you can immediately stop playback, fade-out gracefully or let the phrase play out until it’s end. Powering up is easy using the included 6-AA batteries or optional Ac-adaptor. Rear-panel connections include ¼” instrument jack, ¼” microphone jack, stereo 1/8t”mini-jack, phrase-shift jack, ¼” reverse jack, and a ¼” output jack.
