I use this pedal for whenever I play guitar. It is perfect for Slayer, Metallica, AC DC, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, and pretty much every metal and hard rock band out there. I got it about 2 days ago and have been playing constantly. It might be pricey but it is so worth it and I will always keep it. It is also very loud and powerful... I LOVE IT:)

I use it as the last distortion in line after a Tube Screamer and a Turbo (crunch/distortion)pedal. (I use an Austin Gold for less intense situations.) I tend to stay in the overdrive zone, but the Metal Zone takes me over to the far side nicely. I can't think of any downside except you probably can't play Journey songs on it - lol!

I love this pedal!! This is perfect for Slayer, Judas Priest, and everything in between, I cant find anything bad to say about this pedal. I like using this pedal for practice, or to get that metal tone.

... like most others have said, the 9V life is a joke. Save yourself the hassle and just buy the adaptor when you get the pedal. Seriously, you are lucky to get 2-3 hours with a battery.

The pedal is nice, though. Great for those crunchy metal sounds.

I got this as a gift for my brother, because he needed some sort of distortion. It sounded nice in the store, if only a little buzzy. When we brought it home, something must have broken immediately, because from then on, it buzzed louder than the guitar would play. Even with the guitar volume off, it buzzed madly. Overall, I dislike Boss. The Super Overdrive I got to play blues did nothing that I could hear, but make my guitar louder. I was looking for a small distortion, because I only had a bass amp to play through.

As i looked for distortion pedal like the Boss-ML2 and the MD2, also the digitech Metal Master Distortion Pedal, but this pedal has great sounds, though the distortion almost sounds the same no matter what setting you put it in. Overall it's a MUST have for metalheads.

This is by far the best distortion/overdrive pedal ever. I don't think I know of any pedals that can beat this one.

I am pretty new at playing guitar and this was my first pedal. I got it in the mail recently and I love it! The sounds that come out of it are amazing and its extremely easy to use. I would definitely recommend this pedal for a beginner! Im sure there may be a better metal pedal out there somewhere, but I'm happy with this one.
