I was having trouble with keeping an Epiphone EJ200 acoustic guitar in tune--the G and B strings had an annoying tendency to pop out of tune while I played. I quickly figured out that the strings were sticking in the nut, so I researched nut lubricants and found the Big Bends (manufacturer) website. They have extensive information and videos, as well as testimonials from pros, and it looked like a good product. I was a bit put off by the price, but I decided to give it a try. I picked up a tube at the Ontario, CA Sam Ash store, read the instruction sheet, and applied it to the EJ200's nut and saddle. There was an IMMEDIATE difference in the way my Epiphone played and sounded. Once I had it in tune, it stayed there, and I didn't need to do anything more than incidental tuning adjustments for the next couple of hours of playing. I then tried it on one of my electrics and it did the same job, even minimizing the retuning needed after extensive string bends and tremolo bar use. It doesn't matter if the guitar is a cheap import or a $2,000+ domestic axe, it helps keep you from having to fiddle around with the tuning pegs after you get it tuned the first time. It needs to be reapplied when you change strings (about half of the lubricant stays on the old strings), but it is MORE than worth the extra time and trouble. The pinpoint applicator tip and the small plastic tool that helps push the lubricant into the narrow treble string slots keep you from wasting lubricant, and the lubricant formula does not harm the finish or stain the fretboard. I've seen other, less expensive nut and saddle lubricants out there, but you get what you pay for, and this product is more than worth the difference in pricing.
