The familiar iconic body is carved from mahogany and features a AAA quilter maple veneer on top. The ST is available in 3 stunning translucent finishes that accentuate the grain of the AAA top. BC Rich has always used the finest tonewoods available with an emphasis on aesthetically beautiful grain patterns; and the Mockingbird ST pushes that tradition straight into rock’s future while retaining their established tradition. BC Rich has always championed neck-thru-body construction and the ST features a maple neck with an ebony fretboard capped off with 24 jumbo frets and those famous diamond shaped inlays. BC Rich has always placed a priority on tonal variety, and you get it in spades with the ST. The electronics start with a pair of Seymour Duncan Designed HB-103 humbuckers. These high output pickups are controlled with a selection of knobs and switches that include a 5 position varitone filter knob, two coil-tap switches and a reverse phase switch. Rounding out the blacked-out hardware are a set of Grover Super Rotomatics, accompanied by a Floyd Rose 1000 Series Tremolo that hold the guitar in tune even through the most devastating shred solos.
