Axis Percussion Universal Drive Shaft
The AXIS UNIVERSAL DRIVE SHAFT or UDS will let you replace those old worn out factory drive shafts from other manufacturers double pedals with the same high quality, smooth feeling drive shaft that is used on all AXIS double pedals. The U-joint adapters are made to work with most popular pedals.
Comments about Axis Percussion Universal Drive Shaft:
I bought this driveshaft as a suggestion to replace the driveshaft/linkage that is on my DW 5000 double pedal. The slave on this pedal is very sluggish, unresponsive and just hard to play compared to the regular right pedal. Now as a replacement this driveshaft works perfectly but it did NOT help remove this feeling from the pedal like the other reviews state. Now this is one really great manufactured product that if your using as a replacement should b your choice if u have the money.

Comments about Axis Percussion Universal Drive Shaft:
[...] For $[$], this thing is amazing!I use a TAMA Iron Cobra Power Glide - chain driven. I started with DW, but the foot boards kept bending so I switched to the Cobra. I keep it well oiled and upgraded to the heavy duty springs about a year ago.The TAMA drive shaft has taken a beating over years. One side bent just enough that it would no longer telescope, a lug stripped out at a pedal connetion point, and I was experiencing the dreaded lag within the joints. The AXIS drive shaft feels very solid and is well constructed. The tube is round, as opposed to the TAMA hexagonal shape and the DW square shape. I'm mildly worried about slipping/rotation, but there are 3 set screws to lock the length in place, so time will tell. I did have to add a small shim into the master side because the the AXIS connector was rubbing against the top of the spring and binding. This is minimal since I can just leave that side connected inside my hardware case during travel. There is NO lag in this drive shaft whatsoever. The joints are so fluid and smooth I can't believe it. My speed jumped 20bpm upon first use.If you're on the fence about this product, take the plunge. You can find a discount code in a matter of minutes and you won't be disappointed.

Comments about Axis Percussion Universal Drive Shaft:
I finally got it, after ordering it over a month ago! This drive shaft is awesome. It is super durable. The drive shaft on my DW 5000 was worn out, so I decided to upgrade. My only complaint is that it doesn't fit perfectly like the DW drive shaft, but that is because it is made to fit any kind of pedal. It does lock on the pedal great and holds on perfectly.
It is a good buy, so get it!

Upgrading favorite pedals
Comments about Axis Percussion Universal Drive Shaft:
I love my double pedals; I hate the drive shaft that comes with them. It wore out quickly with a fair amount of use in about a year and a half. Like most drummers, I didn't have the money to buy Axis pedals, and then I found this. Not only did it eliminate the dreaded "lag" of slave pedals, it actually improved its response time. I even put this product on my cheapo "Starter" double pedals and the difference was amazing. The best part, you can keep your favorite pedals; Axis took the word "universal" straight out of the dictionary on this one. [...]. Axis actually makes these once you order them, so don't expect to have it in a week. Mine took about 2 months due to backorders. But, they are worth waiting for, and every penny put towards it.

Comments about Axis Percussion Universal Drive Shaft:
this is an absolute must have upgrade to connect the slave pedal on your own chain drive pedals, i played on an old pearl double pedal that had this same drive shaft and there absolutely no slack from the left to right pedal, the left pedal felt exactly like the right one and you can get perfect double bass everytime and its excellent for tightening up your double bass to clean synchronized perfection, the best upgrade for any double pedal period!! as soon as i can scrounge up the money im upgrading my DW7002 with this sucker!
