Avid Mbox Mini with Pro Tools Express Software
Avid’s Pro Tools Express is a new 16-track version of Pro Tools 10 software that now comes included with Mbox Mini (3rd gen). It offers many of the same features as Pro Tools 10 in a more streamlined package, providing you with the essential tools to create music and audio, quickly and easily.
Pro Tools Express includes a bundle of over 30 virtual instruments, effects, sound processing, and utility plug-ins. It supports AAX Native, RTAS, and AudioSuite plug-ins from Avid and their development partners.
Avid Pro Tools Express was designed to work exclusively with Mbox (3rd Gen) and Mbox Mini (3rd Gen) only. It does not work with other Avid interfaces, and cannot be used with third-party interfaces through Core Audio or ASIO.
Some of the main differences are that Pro Tools Express doesn’t include the new Clip Gain feature, Beat Detective, or the Timecode Ruler, and it’s limited to a maximum of 16 stereo audio tracks.
Like Pro Tools 10, Pro Tools Express is compatible with Mac and Windows 64-bit operating systems. However, it does not run natively as a 64-bit application at this time.
