The high performance tube mic pre includes an input transformer (helps to reject unwanted interference including radio frequencies) and +48v phantom power for your condenser microphones. There are 4 high quality tubes in the path offering oodles of warmth and rich tone. There’s a front panel instrument DI (direct input) and a balanced, discrete high level class A input, all benefiting from the glorious tube presence. Next inline is a class A vacuum tube opto-compressor with complete in-depth controls. Soft compression to hard limiting can be easily achieved. It has attack, release, threshold and ratio compression. De-essing is achieved utilizing the dual sweep mid EQ to side-chain switch. Now that your signal is under control, there’s the 100% discrete class A transistor equalizer section. It has a musical passive filter design yielding tasty delicious tones that go from subtle tweaking to drastic tone shaping…all controlled with easy to grab control knobs (nothing beats the feel of a well constructed rotary knob for precise tuning.).
