MY MOTHER BOUGHT THIS GUITAR FOR ME DURING SUMMER 2010.I ACTUALLY FIRST WENT TO [@] AND FOUND A GUY PLAYING ONE OF THE GUITARS. MY MOM ASKED HIM SOME QUESTIONS,AND ONE OF THEM WAS "WHERE CAN WE FIND A GOOD GUITAR THAT IS AFFORDABLE?"(OR AT LEAST THAT'S WHAT I THINK SHE SAID). HE TOLD HER TO GO TO THE [@]AT SAN PEDRO NEAR NORTH STAR MALL. THERE I MET ANOTHER GUY WHO PLAYED ANOTHER GUY WHO ACTUALLY HELPED ME IN DECIDING(TRUST ME, HE PLAYED GUITAR FOR 16 OR 60 YEARS, SO I TRUSTED HIM). I REALLY WANTED A SQUIER BY FENDER TELECASTER, BUT WHEN HE TOLD ME IT WAS USED MOSTLY FOR COUNTRY MUSIC, I PUT IT BACK BECAUSE I'M NOT A BIG FAN OF COUNTRY. HE RECOMMENDED A STRATOCASTER FROM SQUIER. HE ALSO TOLD ME TO GO TO SAM ASH MUSIC STORES WHICH WAS NEAR [@](WE DID NOT REALIZE TILL AFTER WE GOT LOST),IN ORDER TO HAVE MANY DIFFERENT CHOICES TO CHOOSE FROM. AT SAM ASH, WE FOUND TWO CHOICES FOR THIS GUITAR:A BULLET STRAT AND THIS STRAT. I CHOSE THIS STRAT AND WAS AMAZED WHEN I BROUGHT IT HOME. IT WAS AN OK GUITAR AT FIRST,BUT IT SOUNDED EVEN GREATER WITH MY DISTORTION PEDAL AND EVEN WITH MY NEW ZOOM G1XN PEDAL. I DON'T LIKE IT WHEN IT'S NOT PLUGGED IN THOUGH, BUT WHEN IT IS, I COULD ROCK AND ROLL ALL NIGHT BUT NOT PARTY EVERYDAY. SO BOTTOM LINE, YOU'LL FEEL LIKE ERIC CLAPTON, JIMI HENDRIX, OR ANY OTHER FAMOUS GUITARIST WHEN YOU PLAY THE SQUIER AFFINITY SERIES SPECIAL ELECTRIC GUITAR (BTW, THANKS MOM!).

I am a beginning player and have compared this guitar to the Epiphone Special II. There is no comparison in my opinion. This guitar is much lighter, feels better to hold, and the variation you can get in sound with the 3 single coil pickups is far better than the Epi's 2 humbuckers. Also the neck is much easier to play and I'm much more accurate in finger placement with my Squier...maybe a coincidence but I don't think so. Keep in mind I have only been playing for 6 months, but I love my Squier affinity strat so far!

This guitar is a very good starter guitar.It has amazing soud quality, a good look, and an affordable price... i hope. Even though im not good yet, I recommend this guitar to all novice players. Keep jammin'!

I've had this thing for 6 years. I love it. It's so much better spending only [$] instead of $400 for the same sound. Its extremley durable Ive had it for 6 years without any problems and it's been thrown around quite alot. I recomend this for anyone it'll give you the same sound as a fender without the fender price.

Well, the one at the store was from a different factory as this one is missing 2 screws on the top of the pickguard...by design....the neck is different with no insert running along the back of it.The build quality of these improved in one factory but stayed pretty bad at another.Took it back and bought and ESP EC-50 LP Copy for [$] more and wow!!What a guitar!!

Its a pretty easy guitar to play but the sound isn't the best quality.

This is a great guitar if you are a beginner once you hae learned to play i reccomend getting something better though.

This Guitar is great i just bought it last week. It works great its good for jamming,rocking out,jazz,soft rock,and every thing else.Its really good quilitey from what i have seen from it so far. So if you need a great guitar for a cheap price this is it.

"Just bought this guitar yesterday. Have played for years and due to a recent move I found myself without gear. Looking for a cheap, quality instrument, or a first guitar.....this would be a good choice. I have a style where I rest on the bridge, so getting used to the closeness of the volume/tone knob configuration of the strat will take a while. Nice finish, factory setup was a little low for my taste, but that can be adjusted easily. I am sure that after I play around with the adjustments to suit my style a little more I will be completely satisfied. For the price of this instrument you can't go wrong."
