First off, this is a sweet bass. The action is tight. The strings hold thier tune well under a heavy pounding. As with any guitar/bass you will experience fret buzz (this tip is for everyone that purchases any type of guitar) SPEND A COUPLE EXTRA DOLLARS ABOVE THE PURCHASE PRICE AND HAVE A REPUTABLE GUITAR TECHNICIAN SET IT UP FOR YOU, DO NOT TRY TO DO IT YOURSELF UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN TRAINED BY FACTORY TECHNICIANS, OR HAVE EXTENSIVE ROAD EXPERIENCE. ALSO, MOST GUITAR CENTERS WILL SET UP THE GUITAR FOR YOU FREE WITH THE PURCHASE, SO JUST ASK THE SALESMAN ABOUT THE STORE POLICY. Now having said this, I paid $3 and 1 bottle of Mt Dew to my local music store technician and he set this guitar up to play and feel as smooth as silk in less than 5 minutes. 99% of my fret buzz has been completely eliminated, making this guitar that much more pleasurable to play. I am very picky when it comes to the strings that I use on any of my guitars, so this bass should and will be no different. So having said that, I would recommend purchasing a quality set of your liking when you buy this package, and have the guitar technician change them out when you have the bass set up. Keep the stock strings as a back up set though, just in case. With all this said, I would highly recommend this package to anyone serious about learning to play the bass, as well as the seasoned player looking for a secondary axe to practice on.

This is a good bass to start off with. I have had fun playing it with a band i play in. However you do get some fret buzz while playing it but over all it is a good rounded bass for any beginner interested in playing.

This is the best starter bass combo package on the market. I would highly suggest any and all beginner to get this. However, after you get some experience under your belt you may want to buy a new bass because this is definitely not the best bass. Don't bother modifying this bass cause your better off buying a new bass for the same price. I found if you take the pick cover off and put the screws back in it looks pretty cool.

This is an excellent bass to begin with. I picked this up when I first started to play bass, after deciding that there are not enough people who play bass and just needed something to start me on the road. I still occasionally use the bass itself, but the amp has long since retired, since it too small/not powerful enough for gigging...It should be used as a practice amp, for in your home. If you are considering this,I would say that it is a great kit to start off, as it contains everything you really need, but once you start getting good, move on.
