I play guitar in a metalcore band called Evangel. When me and our other guitarist were looking to upgrade our rigs we were talking to peavey about being endorsed and getting 50% off our 2 purchases for 6505+ Head and cab, and just as a fore front i am the type of guy who researches for hours on end for everything i buy! i live and breathe google and youtube! so i came across the bugera 6262 and i was highly skeptical at first. Usually in the music industry you get what you pay for and the price tag on this amp was way below what i used to consider an acceptable amount to spend on a quality head! Anyway after hours upon hours of reseach i decided to take the dive and buy the 6262 and i have had it for just over a week now. i have played 2 shows and have tested it side by side with my friends 6505+ and it has out perfomed it in every aspect. i am highly excited on this head. i would reccomend it to any players, you get such a wide variety of tones with this thing! ESPECIALLY FOR METALCORE![@]

This is one of my "go to" metal amps - I use it with a 2X12 cab loaded with Celestion V30's. Tons of gain and sheer volume. The EQ's are perfectly tailored for smooth low end, plenty of low mids and sweet highs. It has a great clean channel that actually stays clean and an aggressive Lead channel - put your dirt pedals away, they're not needed with this amp. There is also a (non-footswitchable crunch channel that sounds really cool for that 70's stuff. It takes really well to my strats, Les Pauls, SG's and just about everything I throw at it. It also has beautiful sounding reverb with great presence, yet not overpowering. Anybody out there really hungry for super gain, give this amp a try. Not enough? stick a cheap EQ in the loop and watch the walls crumble. Real bang for the buck here and great tones to be had.

this is a 6505+ for one who cant afford to spend the grand. the only thing i would say that is better on this is that it has a good clean channel, and anyone with half a brain could tell that the 6505+ is definately not designed to be an amp that sounds amazing clean. the distiortion is about the same and it can push some air.

The first one i had failed on me, but the place I got it from had a great policy for returns. During the first week I had the first one, I really enjoyed the sound. The craftmanship was OK, but it well never break apart, unless you are have some sort of mental problem(Like if you like kicking amps). I compared it with a friends 6505+(they look the same!), and it wasn't really better(c'mon, its a new company!). The tone was a little muddy, and some of the distortion sounded like a solid-state. It was pretty versitile, though. Eventually, it failed, and i exchanged it. Once I played the 2nd amp, I was blown away. The first amp was probably handled by an idiot, or something, the speakers were loose and the wires were practically torn! The new, second amp recieved a good set-up, and the sound was just plain awesome. It had a great metal tone, which is good for thrash, and even power metal(yes, it can sound epic, with the right configuration). However, I think it has a better hard-rock tone, when playing chords from AC/DC. Not sure about cleans, but they do sound just right. If you got a new Bugera amp, and it sounds OK, something is wrong with it. Get it fixed, and get blown away. If you experienced what i experienced, you'll find out it is safe to say this thing can rival any amp that costs $500 more than this one. A new company usually has cheaper amps that should cost more. If Bugera ad a more respectable name, this head would cost $500 more, and I would still buy it. Don't let other amp-snobs tell you otherwise. They just want to justify their purchases of their overpriced amps.

I bought the first one of these that came into my local music store...needless to say, it worked for 2 weeks and just abrubtly stopped...[...]save yourself the trouble and buy a REAL Peavey, not this very lame knockoff...
