Yes, everyone wants to have a professional sound mixing board and sound staff running sound from the back of the room. Esp in large halls. But this is is often impossible, esp in churches or with small bands playing small gigs. You are stuck running your own sound. Which means you need local control over everyhing -- including the ability to cut the sound to a mic (to kill feedback, or eliminate noise pickup from other mics when you are using several mics. Mics with their inline switches are usually the cheaper mics; and touch those witches can cause pops and cracks created by discharge of static electricity. These XLR cables with inline swithces (at the mic end of the cable) solve the problem. Easy; quiet; no noise. Too expensive, however!
