Marshall 2466 Vintage Modern 100 Watt Guitar Amplifier Head
The concept behind the Marshall 2266 guitar amplifier head is simple: the perfect marriage of 100% genuine vintage tones with modern features and gain capabilities required by today’s players. The cosmetics are also a carefully crafted hybrid of old and new styles – made even more dramatic by the deep purple vinyl that covers the entire series.
The KT66 driven power stage is based on the first Marshall amplifiers produced and the KT66s yield a fat, smooth tone. Each Vintage Modern amp is armed with two “frequency selective” Preamp Gain controls – Detail & Body – which gives the guitarist superior tonal shaping flexibility. The Detail control deals with the high-mids and highs while the Body deals with the low end, as it’s name suggests.
These single-channel, all-valve amps all have a footswitchable “High Dynamic Range” option which kicks in an extra gain stage, causing the amp’s gain to soar like a hot-rodded classic. In both High and Low Dynamic Ranges, the Vintage Modern amps are incredibly responsive to picking dynamics and control changes on the guitar. A mid-boost button, studio-quality, built-in digital plate reverb and a bypassable Series FX loop round out the Modern features.
