Gibson Custom 1957 Les Paul Custom Reissue Electric Guitar
Nineteen fifty seven was an important year for Gibson because it marked the introduction of a major Gibson innovation, the humbucking pickup. This long awaited development soon became a Gibson trademark and was installed on all major Gibson products at that time. Replicating this Holy Grail required thorough research of a large number of vintage pickups.
After conducting listening tests with discerning ears such as Joe Walsh and Dickie Betts, Gibson chose a specification that welcomes comparison by today's discriminating collector. Installed on all of Gibson's '57 Reissues, the '57 Classic provides the original "Patent Applied For" sound that is sought by today's experts. This Black Beauty features a carved mahogany top and body finished in Ebony lacquer with alternating white-black binding on the top and bottom of the body, deluxe pearl inlays, an ebony fingerboard and gold plated hardware. Includes a hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity.
