P. Mauriat Saxophones are known for their great response, intonation, and evenness from the lowest notes to the highest notes. P. Mauriat Saxophones are all about sound and the 67R UL produces a big, fat sound with great projection. The UL goes through a special process that "weathers" the unlacquered brass to give the appearance of a seasoned vintage horn while incorporating all of the features of a modern horn.

The raw brass of the P.Mauriat RUL with Rolled Tone Holes, uninhibited by layers of lacquer, allows the saxophone to resonate freely. As well, the absence of lacquer allows the finish to age over time, forging a mature sound that is uniquely yours. Includes case, neck strap, polishing cloth, cork grease and mouthpiece.

  • Case

Comments about P.Mauriat PMXA-67RUL Alto Saxophone (Unlacquered):

My Yamaha 62 was stolen while I was studying Saxophone in college and I went out on a limb to try the 67-RUL. The tone is much richer than that of the Yamaha especially in the lower end. I have had the Mauriat for over 3 years now and have not had to have a single set up or problems with any leaks. The projection that accompanies the dark tone is great. Any professional horn is going to be subject to bias, but this is the best new model horn I have played.

Comments about P.Mauriat PMXA-67RUL Alto Saxophone (Unlacquered):

I was curious and disappointed that Sam Ash now carries a lowly brand like Paul Mauriat. To confirm, I went and tried one during the recent road trip. The result is expected, disappointing. Asides from inconsistency(tried 3 and all three has different issues that's making it unplayable) I am surprised by the lack of detail. As I impressed as I was by the "unlacquered" finish look[...]
