Digital Audio Workstations

A digital audio workstation, or "DAW", is a special kind of computer that has been outfitted with recording software, accessories like a control surface and software plug-ins, and one or more audio interfaces for getting sound in and out. DAW software is essentially the main program used to capture playback and edit multiple tracks of audio.

PLUG INS (AUDIO)

Audio plug-ins are the software equivalent of compressors, delays, equalizers, and other gear that used to reside on huge equipment racks in the studio. They are called "plug-ins" because they work as an integral part of the main DAW software package. Many audio plug-ins available today emulate the time-tested hardware versions of outboard gear found in studios around the world, and we offer plenty of plug-in options to ensure multiple outlets for your musical creativity!

PLUG INS (VIRTUAL INSTRUMENTS)

Virtual instruments are used to reproduce the sounds of real instruments through software. While most emulate famous keyboard instruments like the Hammond B3 organ, or synthesizers from the early days of rock music, your options are certainly not limited to those types. There are thousands of virtual instruments to choose from, and many come packaged together, so expanding your virtual instrument library is easily within reach.

AUDIO EDITING/BURING

Audio editing/burning software is used to make simple edits to audio files and burn all the CD copies you need. Unlike Digital Audio Workstation software, however, most audio editing software has either limited or no multi-track capability, so do keep that in mind when deciding which software will best suit your needs.

SAMPLING

With sampling software, you'll be able to record any sounds you want and load them up into your computer for easy manipulation into any song or audio composition. There isn't a sound on earth that can't be reproduced by sampling software, and SamAsh.com has the technology to suit all your sampling needs.
