INSTRUMENT

Instrument cables usually consist of two 1/4 inch male plugs at each end, and are designed to connect your instrument to an amplifier or other piece of electronic gear. It's important to think about durability when choosing an instrument cable - will your cables be out on the road, or are they going to stay put in a studio? How often are they going to be plugged, unplugged, and pulled around? Also remember that the longer a cable is, the more it's at risk for noise, so make sure you choose cables that are at a good middle-ground length.

MICROPHONE

Microphone cables are primarily used for connecting a microphone to a mixer or a snake, and come with a male XLR connector at one end and a female XLR connector at the other end. They are low impedance (meaning low voltage), which means a greater length of cord won't degrade the signal from the microphone at all.

AUDIO

Audio cables are used to interconnect any general electronic devices, like a mixer to a CD player. They come in a wide variety of lengths and have many different combinations of connectors, so when making your selection it's best to keep in mind the type of connections you're going to need most often.

SPEAKER

Audio cables are used to interconnect any general electronic devices, like a mixer to a CD player. They come in a wide variety of lengths and have many different combinations of connectors, so when making your selection it's best to keep in mind the type of connections you're going to need most often. Please remember that an audio cable should never be used to connect up speakers, as the cable won't be able to handle the connection.

MIDI

MIDI cables are, not surprisingly, used to interconnect MIDI devices like keyboards and special processors. They feature a MIDI plug as the connector on each end.

SNAKES

Snakes are essentially a bundle of long microphone cables with a box of XLR jacks at one end (known as the stage end) and male XLR plugs at the other end for connection to a mixer. They are essential if you have a recording studio with seperate sound and control rooms, or if you want your sound mixer to be out in the audience at your next show.

PATCH

Patch cables are short audio cables used in conjunction with a patch bay to quickly set up or change the interconnections between audio equipment. They're typically sold in sets of standard lengths of one foot or more and come in a variety of colors, making it easy to keep track of which devices are connected to one another.

ADAPTERS

When you're right in the middle of creating a mix or delivering a performance, you don't want to be left with a cable that won't plug in. With our selection of adapters to suit a variety of input connections as well as a variety of instruments and devices, you can ensure a perfect fit every time.
