When it comes to outstanding live performance, there’s one board that guarantees success. Kawai MP7 – the flexible, all-in-one stage piano for flexible, play-it-all musicians.

The MP7SE has been developed to provide an excellent concert grand piano playing experience, while offering a broad selection of additional sounds for greater musical flexibility. It features the class-leading Responsive Hammer III plastic-key keyboard action, which offers premium features such as triple-sensor note detection, let-off simulation, and Ivory Touch key surfaces.

In addition to grade-weighted hammers, the RHIII action also incorporates counterweights embedded within each key, helping to balance the touch weight during pianissimo passages, while adding a feeling of greater substance when playing with force.  As with its bigger brother, the MP7SE features Kawai’s Harmonic Imaging XL sound engine, and includes the same Shigeru Kawai SK-EX, SK-5, Kawai EX, and K-60 samples, and authentic electric piano sounds.

The MP7SE also features a special Tonewheel organ mode which allows all nine drawbars to be individually adjusted directly from the panel, including full percussion and chorus/vibrato settings, and parameters to adjust key-click level and tonewheel leakage. The flexible MP7SE also boasts an impressive selection of synth leads/pads, brass, wind, and choir sounds, and authentic basses and guitars, ensuring that performers can cover almost any musical genre from a single instrument.

With the emphasis on real-time control, the MP7SE’s intuitive panel layout allows up to four sounds to be freely layered, split, or assigned to specific key zones.  Each zone provides an independent effects block, with the MAIN zone offer a secondary effects block and additional amp simulator module. The MP7SE retains all of the MP11SE’s Virtual Technician and sound editing functionality, while also offering additional controls and parameters specifically for organ and synth performance. As with all MP stage piano, specific adjustments can be quickly stored to each individual SOUND memory, with 256 SETUP memories available to store and retrieve full instrument configurations.

Despite its compact size, the MP7SE retains the same rock-solid build quality that has become a hallmark of MP instruments for nearly 20 years.  As with its larger sibling, the MP7SE’s wood and metal construction is designed for the stage, yet its classic appearance and polished side arm design ensure that this flexible instrument is also suitable for the home or studio musician.

Stunning Acoustic Pianos
A variety of beautiful concert, jazz, and pop grand pianos, and a full-bodied traditional upright – appropriately voiced and mic’d for a broad range of musical styles. Enjoy playing the original sounds, or delve into the powerful Virtual Technician to adjust the piano beneath your fingertips.

Class Leading Keyboard
The class-leading Responsive Hammer II keyboard action recreates the touch of an acoustic grand, with realistic movement providing a smooth, natural playing experience. Triple-sensor key detection, ivory-like surfaces, and authentic let-off simulation ensure the MP7 performs like the real thing.

Cherished Vintage EP's
A treasure trove of authentic tine, reed, and modern electric pianos, crunchy clavs, and a striking electric grand – lovingly sampled to preserve their characteristics and imperfections. Play them clean, or plug into over 100 different effects, each with a variety of fully tweakable parameters.

All New Effects Engine
The MP7’s powerful audio processor elevates sonic realism to another level with brand new, high resolution effects. Apply richly modelled resonances to acoustic piano sounds, warm-up EPs with analog-style amp sims, and recreate distinctive reverb environments – all at the touch of a button.

Classic Tonewheel Organs
A brand new tonewheel organ simulation, complete with 9 real-time adjustable drawbars, direct panel percussion controls, and authentic chorus/vibrato. Tweak the organ’s rotary speaker characteristics and use the MP7’s mixer faders to adjust onscreen drawbar registrations.

Powerful 4-Zone System
Four independently configurable zones for controlling internal sounds, external MIDI devices, or both at the same time. Sturdy hardware level faders provide immediate control over rich multi-voice layers, while improved split functionality allows any zone to be effortlessly split, or assigned to a custom key range.

Inspiring Sounds
Studio quality strings, pads, basses, and other essential sounds suitable for creating splits, layering with acoustic pianos and EPs, or for simply playing solo. Tweak each voice using comprehensive ADSR parameters, or fatten the overall sound with flexible parametric EQ.

Accessible & Intuitive Panel
A large graphic LCD display, four assignable real-time control knobs, and a well organised, immediately usable panel interface. Leave the manual at home and concentrate on playing, rather than trying to remember which button does what.

Generous Setup Memories
Store and recall every customised sound, knob position, fader level, and adjustable parameter at the touch of a button. With over 250 setup memories, the MP7 is ideal for busy stage musicians who like to plan several shows ahead, before going out on the road.

Quality Design & Build
Elegantly finished wooden side panels, sleek gloss-black paintwork and a raised fallboard displaying the Kawai family name give the MP7 a distinctly acoustic presence. Its sturdy aluminium and steel chassis, and reinforced base reassures players that this instrument is built for the stage.
