As a follow-up to the first very successful Mayer edition, CF Martin asked John if he would create a second namesake guitar, with many of the same attributes as his first. The OMJM John Mayer Special Edition guitar is built with solid East Indian rosewood sides and back, an Englemann spruce top, and is equipped with Martin Gold Plus electronics. The special vintage Geib-style hardshell case has a unique art deco "JEM" monogram. Each guitar in this open series will be individually numbered in sequence.

Comments about Martin OMJM John Mayer Signature Model Acoustic Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar from samash some months back mainly because it is a signature model... it is very similar to the eric clapton 00028 model except some a little difference in neck woods and that the john mayer model has electronics...
the guitar sounds great and it's optimal for fingerpicking... strummer is good too but because of the relatively small body size the projection may suffer a bit, but like most acoustic guitars just plug into a nice acoustic amp and all the differences between body shapes and tonewoods becomes a much smaller factor...

this is a no brainer if you have the cash and a big john mayer fan...
