The CF Martin GPCPA5 Acoustic Electric Guitar boasts a solid Sitka Spruce soundboard with Martin’s “X” scalloped bracing. The back and sides are constructed from Mahogany Wood Pattern High Pressure Laminate with a Textured Finish. The GPCPA5 sports the Martin Grand Performance body style; a slightly smaller body that is similar to the dreadnought shape of the DCPA4 model, yet delivers that characteristic big dreadnought tone.

The slim taper neck with a Black Richlite fingerboard and traditional dot inlays will feel comfortable in your fretting hand. The GCPA5 sports a single cutaway body design that allows for extended range in your lead playing when you need to access those upper register notes.

The CF Martin GCPA5 also features the easy to operate Fishman F1 Analog electronics system. Pickup system includes Sonicore under-saddle transducer with convenient side mounted volume and tone controls and on-board chromatic tuner. Hardware includes a set of Chrome sealed tuners with large buttons. Case not included.

The electronics on this guitar is great for recording and playing live gigs. The solid Sitka Spruce top soundboard and martin's own X bracing adds to the beautiful tone of this instrument. The single cutaway body design makes this guitar a dream to play. You do get a lot of guitar at this price point.

This is really a pro instrument for not a lot of money. It plays great, and I like the mat finish on these. Try all your finger picking licks and songs on it. It's really best for that kind of stuff.

Comments about Martin GPCPA5 Performing Artist Series Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This Martin Guitar sounds great and won't break your budget. It has that signature warm rich Martin sound even though it does have a smaller body shape than some of the other Martin guitars. Its comfortable body shape makes it ideal for any guitar player. The cutaway design allows you to play solos with ease. The tone is rich and warm and has that traditional Martin sound. This guitar is great for beginners or gigging musicians with its durable build and great on board electronics. All around a solid guitar for a student learning at home or a gigging musician looking for a reliable acoustic-electric guitar.

This Guitar sounds as good as it looks! This is my favorite martin under $1000, and you get a lot more guitar than you pay for! Super high-quality build, and a super clear and clean sound. The necks on this guy is a dream as well.

Like all Martins I've played, I love the warm tone. I especially love the compact feel to this guitar from the smaller body to the slim neck. Also, the Fishman F1 system is very user friendly. The playability of this guitar vs the affordable price makes this a great choice for gigging musicians.
