Comments about Martin DCPA5 Koa Performing Artist Series Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Always have been a "traditionalist" when it comes to acoustic guitars. No pickups, no cutaways, etc. But, having more gigging opportunities necessitated finding an easy amplified solution. The DCPA5K fits the bill perfectly. It sounds like a Martin and the Fishman Aura F1 analog electronics are fantastic sounding and easy to operate. Not plugged in, it definitely has the signature Martin mahogany dreadnought sound. I did play it alongside a D-28 at a bluegrass jam and I would be lying to say that it equaled the D-28's low end and ability to project. But, it wasn't too far behind! I kind of see it as a "swiss army knife" type of guitar. Good for just about any application, and certainly excels when plugged in.
