  • Description

The long-lived dominance of the of the genuine Hammond B3 Organ sound with the rotary Leslie Speakers over the entertainment world is undeniable, but it's size and weight made it impossible for the average player to own or move, because its components and wood cabinetry were necessary to create the immortal sounds, flexible control and playability until recent years. Today, Hammond can take advantage of advanced technology to create the music and feel only a B3 could give and put it into a smaller, more affordable and more practical unit.

As with their popular SK series of ultralight keyboards, the XK-1c uses the same Virtual Tonewheel “engine” as Hammond’s flagship B3-mkII Console Organ, with all its traditional elements, like the original  Touch-Response Percussion, Chorus/Vibrato and the latest digital Leslie rotary emulation built-in, making this classic setup, attainable and desired by the best in the business, as it was with the original.

The new Hammond XK-1c provides the full majesty and versatility of the industry standard B-3 in a compact package weighing just 16 pounds.

The XK-1c can be customized to replicate any Hammond/Leslie sound and, unlike the classic, those settings can be stored for convenient recall with a 64-patch user memory. With 64 factory presets, most of the aftermarket “Hot Rod” modifications allow custom tweaking abilities right out of the box, creating your own preferred sounds, most often based on the recalled originals.

Using the classic drawbars, the sounds of two of the most popular transistor combo organs are included, along with 28 equivalent ranks of Classical Pipe Organ sounds.

Hammond says "the XK-1c’s diminuitive size is shocking when compared to its massive tone, but one touch of the traditional waterfall keyboard tells the truth that the XK-1c is the real deal, not a clone or imitation, but a genuine Hammond Organ, worthy of the name and the legacy.."
