  • Description

Tech 21’s Trademark 60 amp features two very distinct channels and is one of the most versatile guitar amplifiers available. Channel 1 serves primarily as a clean channel. In addition to the Level and drive controls, the Punch control sets the amount of midrange break-up and overdrive, and a Bite button tightens the low end and adds brightness. You can dial up vintage tones that deliver sounds ranging from earthy, slightly overdriven blues tones to California surf drenched in the Trademark 60’s spring reverb. The Trademark 60 captures the all the best aspects of a vintage tube amp without the hassle of tube maintenance.

Things get way raunchier over in Channel 2, with amp sounds ranging from crunchy British tones to slamming Rectifier styles. A Weep button increases the amount of even harmonics and thickens the sound. Its powerful and sophisticated midrange control, appropriately named Growl, can produce brutal ‘scooped’ tones without any loss of girth or volume.

The 60-watt output produces more than enough volume for club gigs, rehearsals, or live recording. Balanced XLR and 1/4” outputs enable you to run direct into a studio mixer or a PA system without losing your tone.  The Headphone output doubles as a 1/4” direct out. Additional features include an Effects  Loop and a speaker extension output. A multi-function footswitch is included) selects channels, activates the Reverb and Boost functions and engages the Effect Loop.

The Trademark 60 is voiced thru a Celestion Seventy80  12” speaker and is housed in a sturdy, black vinyl covered chassis with a vintage-style wheat-colored grille cloth.  Weighing in below 40 lbs, the Trademark 60 is easy to transport to your show, rehearsal, or recording session.

Comments about Tech 21 Trademark 60 60 Watt 1X12 Guitar Combo Amplifier:

I plugged an Ibanez Pat Metheny II into this amp and was absolutely floored by the unbelievable warmth and "fullness/roundness" (can't think of another word), even considering the new speaker (12" 80w Celestion Seventy 80). When a product impresses me to that extent, I have to make it a part of my musical life (I've played professionally off and on for 35 I bought it, and haven't had one minute's regret about it, either. Channel 2 can get a bit fussy, especially given the weird names for effects, but there's no sound--with the exception of deep thrash metal perhaps--that I can't dial in, and BELIEVABLY so. I'd used the Bass DI Sansamp for many years, and my experience with that product made this purchase feel like a safe bet.

Comments about Tech 21 Trademark 60 60 Watt 1X12 Guitar Combo Amplifier:

"I have two amps--a Mesa/Boogie and a Tech 21. More often than not, I go to the Tech 21. Why? It's light and versatile. This is not a modeling amp (although they have their pluses, too). No, it's rich, analog circuitry that has got the tube amp and feel nailed pretty well. Is it exactly the same? No, of course not. But it's close, and it has its advantages. It's a versatile amp that won't break your back, and Tech 21 tech support is great. Buy it. Love it. Use it."
