This is not the cute little practice amp you bring home to meet your mom! Diminutive in size and easy to transport but packing some serious punch, the TC Electronic BG250-208 is basically a great bass amp run through an atomic accelerator, resulting in pure tone and focus. And yes it’s great for practicing, easy to transport and easy on the eyes. But inside is a true tone monster.

This compact little miracle may look small, but it has tone for days. An excellent choice if you need a compact combo without you losing the body of your tone. Less weight and zero compromise on tone is the credo here. The sound is best characterized as fresh, inspiring and with nice clarity and attitude, without ever losing the rumble.
Signature Effects. For Free.
The TC Electronic BG250-208 sports Bass TonePrint, a unique feature that lets you load signature effects into the TonePrint slot. So load any of the Bass TonePrints and off you go! You can switch between two TonePrints with the optional Switch-3 footswitch; change them on the fly or mute – whatever you need to create your tone.
TC Electronic has an ever-expanding roster of the coolest people in bass today that have given their signature versions of TC effects, so there’s bound to be a sound that inspires you! Oh, and if you want to use the slot for a bit (or a lot) of dirt – go for it! It accepts their BassDrive TonePrints as well, which range from TubeDrive - ported from the RH750 - to the crushing ‘The Beast’ TonePrint. And, via the optional Switch-3, you can cycle through 2 TonePrints, which vastly increases your tonal palette. This allows you to shape your sound, create your tone and basically take the TC Electronic Bass TonePrint arsenal wherever you need it to go. They’re all available for free and you can beam them directly to your BG250-208 via the übercool free smartphone app or via the TC Electronic website if you want to use a computer.
Shape Your Sound
Maybe you want TC Electronic's SpectraComp TonePrint (per string compression that totally rules) at the press of a button – that’s cool too! Shaping your sound should be your decision – so they've added a set of intelligent controls that make sure you’re always boosting and cutting in areas optimized for bass.
Great Things Start Small
OK. So you bought the combo – what does it allow you to do? Well, it’s very versatile and performs great regardless of genre because of a set of really smart controls. Turn them and just the right frequencies get a boost or cut, enabling you to sculpt truly great sounds. Plus connecting an external cabinet is not a problem if you need to fill bigger spaces with some sweet low end.
The TC Electronic BG250-208 has a built-in tuner. How smart is that? Tune up and start your jam or practice session with the confidence your bass is perfectly in tune.

Comments about Tc Electronic Bg250-208 2X8" Combo Bass Amplifier:
For quite some time now i've been an ampeg fan. My first gigging amp was de BA115 combo, then I switched to a SVT7Pro head with a pro neo cabinet. Both those set ups were really heavy to carry around and on the long run having a gig every weekend the weight was just too much of a burden. And the head amp set up came with factory malfunction ... twice.
So I heard about TC BG250 family, and saw this little guy. With about 20lbs and 250W it was almost too good to be true. So I decided to try it out. It blew me away!
Right out of the box it came out with an incredible tone. It is loud! And it never compromises my bass' tone. Highs are nice and bright, and lows are clear and deliciously fat. That wasn't it... the first time I played live with it, even the soud guy was impressed. The balanced out was extremely faithful to the tone the amp posesses. And so portable, i can show up with my bass on my back and my amp on one hand. I had a soft carrying case made for it just because i loved it so much and it doesnt get a scratch on it while i move it around.
So then you add the features. The Tone Print is really cool and easy to use. And it gives the sound millions of posibilities and you can literally make yourself sound exactly the way you want to be heard. It has a built in tuner which makes life easier, and this little dude is the only one in the BG250 family with a speakon speaker out option to add another cab for more power. I'm not famous or anything and my gigs are mostly in bars, pubs, and clubs so this guy is more than enough. But that is a nice feature should I ever need more power.
So for personal practice it has a rehearsal input and output ... so you can plug in your ipod or mp3 and your headphones and jam along to any song without botherning anyone.
Bottom line, this is a small amp, but it packs in a ton of features and monster sound with incredible tone. Best purchase i've made in quite some time. Kudos to TC Electronic on this one. They won a loyal fan.
