  • Description

The Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass takes a cue from the late iconic Jazz fusion artist Jaco Pastorius, who helped popularize the fretless electric bass in the 1970's. This bass retains all the vintage aesthetics and vibe of the original bass he customized, right down to the stripped down sans-pickguard look.  The Vintage Modified Jazz Bass fretless is equipped with the familiar slim tapered maple neck. The fingerboard is carved from ebonol  and features white position "fret" markers to aide with intonation. The slick fretless playing surface will inspire you to venture into new musical territory and carve out new sonic paths

The Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass also incorporates high-output Fender-Designed Single-Coil Jazz Bass pickups that will satisfy modern players and vintage buffs alike. Chrome Vintage-Style hardware includes a 4-Saddle bridge and open-gear tuners. Case not included.

    • Vintage-tint maple neck with "C"-shaped profile
    • Fretless ebonol fingerboard with inlaid white fret-marker lines
    • Dual Fender-designed single-coil Jazz Bass pickups
    • No pickguard
    • Case not included

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass Fretless:

I got this bass from Sam Ash NYC 4 years ago and never felt the need to upgrade. I use it in all types of music. I did change the pickups but that was a matter of personal preference not necessity. The Duncan designed pickups that it came with are great. This was a birthday gift from my daughter and its one I will always cherish. I use flatwound lights and I get all the tones from a fat acoustic type sound to a Jaco sound but a lot fuller. With rounds it has a nice tight slap sound also because of the ebanol fretboard there's no worry of string wear.
