Comments about Shure Centraverse Cvg12 12" Gooseneck Condenser Microphone:
For the price you can't beat the quality of this mic for both construction and audio. After testing out many different brands and mic types (i.e. gooseneck, pzm, etc.) we determined that the CVG 12 was the clear winner! when paired with the table top base we were able to provide our customers with a very clean looking great sounding package that recieved complements from everyone in the room.
We had 35 of these mics at a large open to the public board room style meeting and they drove our PA (so the audience could hear), a conference phone (so the people that couldn't make it could hear), and the media (so the world could hear) and everything ran smoothly! They have amazing gain before feedback. Without an automatic mixer to handle them we added a little gate to each mic so that only the one that was being used would be "on", and after EQ'ing the room they all played nicely together.
Even through our old beat up system these sounded great! We added a touch of eq on the main mix to compensate for our main speakers but everyones vocal sounded clean and clear, not muddy at all. Now that the big shindig is over we will be replacing all of our podium mics with the CVG 12's.
