Epiphone takes their deluxe semi to all new heights with the release of the Sheraton-II PRO. The Sheraton-II PRO offers several upgrades to provide superior performance and enhanced aesthetics. These upgrades include a pair of Epiphone's new critically acclaimed ProBucker humbucking pickups with coil-tapping, a Graphtech NuBone XL nut, old-school "top-hat" knobs with metal inserts, an ivory toggle cap and the addition of a beautiful Wine Red finish.
First introduced in 1959 and dubbed as "an out-did 335" by iconic blues guitarist John Lee Hooker, the Sheraton is widely recognized for its amazing sound and gorgeous premium pearloid/abalone appointments. Today, the Epiphone Sheraton-II PRO features the same body shape and thin profile as the original, and boasts laminated maple for the top, back and sides. Dressed in your choice of Ebony, Natural, Vintage Sunburst, or Wine Red finishes, the Sheraton-II PRO showcases classic ivory binding and a bound "Tortoise"-style pickguard featuring Epiphone's signature metal "E" logo.
For a classic feel, the hand-set 5-piece hard maple/walnut neck is carved into a comfortable, fast 1960s SlimTaper C shape and features a 24.75" scale length. The rosewood fingerboard houses 22 medium jumbo frets for superb playability while gorgeous block and triangle inlays made from pearloid and abalone cater to the elegant looks. The fingerboard is topped with a Graphtech NuBone XL nut, which offers exceptional intonation and string balance. The NuBone XL nut is also as hard as bone but will last a lifetime without cracking or chipping. The neck also sports a large vintage-style "Clipped Ear" headstock that bears a beautiful "tree of life" inlay.
For that classic vintage voice with modern versatility, the Sherton-II PRO comes equipped with a pair of Epiphone's PAF-style ProBucker humbuckers with coil-tapping capabilities. First made in the late '50s in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the "Patent Applied For" pickups are considered by most to be the "Holy Grail" of guitar pickups. With the ProBucker pickups, Epiphone has faithfully re-created the distinctive sonic qualities of those classic humbuckers. In order to ensure that elusive tone of the originals, the ProBuckers utilize the same materials as the originals such as 18% Nickel Silver Unit bases and covers, Sand cast Alnico II magnets, and high-quality 4-conductor lead wire. Both pickups are also vacuum wax potted to eliminate microphonics.
The pickups are wired through a classic control layout that consists of a 3-way toggle and independent volume & tone control knobs for each pickup. Providing you with an extensive sonic palette, the volume control for each pickup features a push/pull pot that allows you to tap into single-coil tones on-the-fly.
The Epiphone Sheraton-II PRO comes fitted with premium gold-plated nickel hardware including a set of Grover Rotomatic tuning machines with an 18:1 ratio and a classic pairing of a LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge with a stopbar tailpiece.

For most of my life, I have played guitar and bass. I have always been partial to Epiphone guitars. Now, I must be honest-I haven't played the "pro" as yet; but I do own a Sheraton ll, and wouldn't part with it ever! This axe plays like it was built just for me, the guitar as a whole, is a wonderful instrument to play; either in your own room, studio, or out on gigs and sessions. At the moment, I have mine running through a Hartke 150-this amp was more or less built for an acoustic instrument, but through it, the "Sherry" sings like a bird. The tone I get is very resonant and throaty-sort of a Carmen McCrae with strings!
At present I have it strung with D'adaddario med. gauge flats, and am one happy dude! I would have used it in any setting; from studio, to hot sweaty gigs-she is going to be one hard axe to beat!
...NOT a guitar to leave in the case!!
