The Tube was designed to provide a flat, true acoustic response for natural sound. It uses a Stack® hum-canceling design and it's extremely feedback resistant. The impedance is lower than other passive acoustic pickups, so it can go straight into a variety of mixers, amps and PA systems. There's also a volume knob right on the pickup for quick and easy control of volume during performances. And installation is a snap! For use with bronze wound strings.

Comments about Seymour Duncan Sa1 Acoustic Tube Acoustic Guitar Pickup:
"I am playing a 1967 Epiphone Texan and sometimes need amplification. A friend recommended the Seymour Duncan because of their reputation for pickups and because it looked like it could be easily installed without hurting the guitar. Neither one of us had ever used one. Some really good things they do not mention in the ad here is how adjustible the pickup is. The space between the strings and the pickup can be adjusted at both ends of the pickup. Also, the pickup can be rotated in the sound hole (i.e., like the last strat pickup). It is very easy to install. Also, they have ingeniously designed the cord so that it stays completely out of the way. There is a rubber wrap that lets you loop it on under your strap. The jack is female and the end result is your cord is out of the way just like it would be if you had an onboard sound system. I plug it straight into the board and use the equalizer to adjust the tone to how I like it. I have not tried using it with an amplifer so I cannot comment about that. On the con side, it does not sound as good as when miked, but I suspect the sound is excellent for a pickup. I have never had one before. Also, it does not feedback easily. I turned everything up as loud as I could and stood in front of the monitor, soundhole to speaker, and it did not feed back! But it does ""click"", a problem not mentioned by any of the pickup companies, and I find I have to keep turned completely down except with I play. The good news though is that the volume knob is perfectly positioned on the top of the pickup and can be easily rotated with the side of my little finger while continuing to hold the pick. I hadn't realized just how important this feature would be when I ordered it. DO NOT BUY a pickup without a volume control that is easy to reach! So in some, I got everything I wanted, and more! I can see why they were back-ordered. The only issue is the clicking. Maybe somebody can adivise me about that? "
