Comments about K&M 21451 Speaker Stand Package:
I use 6 of these stands in an outdoor surround-sound application. I was pleasantly surprised by their overall strength and sturdiness despite their very light weight construction. The height adjust clamp has a number of "click-stop" positions a few inches apart, with a good range of height adjustment. These are handy for making sure all of the speakers are at the same height, and it also provides some security because the adjuster uses a pin that prevents slippage.
The carrying bag is stronger than I expected, and looks good. Even with both stands in the bag, the whole package is surprisingly light and easy to carry.
I have only had these for a short time, so I can't comment on their longevity. I am slightly concerned about the clamp that holds the tripod base in position. It is a plastic clamp and has to be quite tight for the legs to stay put reliably under load. When tightened, it is quite secure, but I wonder if over time the plastic clamp may crack under the clamping force. So far, so good -- so for the time being, anyway, these stands are great and I am very happy with them.
