As a co-founding member of Massachussetts' metal heroes Shadows Fall, Jon Donais has been instrumental in reviving the American heavy metal scene in the early 2000's by bringing metal out of the musical despair and dullness of the 90's alternative rock/nu-metal movement that dominated much of the mainstream rock scene in that decade. With Shadows Fall Jon helped bring back guitar solos to the forefront for a new generation of rock and metal fans who have grown without any guitar heroes of their own. Shadows Fall, along with other metal acts like Unearth, Lamb of God, Trivium, Killswith Engage and As I Lay Dying, ushered in what the press labeled a New Wave of American Heavy Metal. His bone-crunching riffs, furiously fast but melodic solos and incredible, distinct vibrato combines the influences of legendary metal guitarists such as Zakk Wylde and Dimebag Darrell with a new millenium thrash attitude and fierceness not seen since the '80s and early '90s when metal reigned supreme.
The Legator Jon Donais Signature Ninja Reverse 300-PRO Electric Guitar sports a Mahogany body with a Maple top, and features a no-nonsense natural finish. The double cutaway design features extra-deep scoop cuts on body's lower horn make it easy to access the upper register. A fast-playing satin-finished 5-piece Maple neck boasts a thin profile and a 25.5" scale; capped off with an ebony fingerboard and 24 jumbo frets.
The Jon Donais Signature Ninja Reverse 300-PRO is outfitted with a pair of revolutionary Fishman Fluence pickups. Historically, pickup "recipes" have been fraught with compromises, a balancing act of design concessions in an effort to combine favorite elements without giving up too much. However, even after almost a century of refinement, most of us can still think of something we’d like to tweak on our current favorites. Each Fishman Fluence pickup has two distinct and useful sounds on-board. These sounds start with the revolutionary Fluence Core, the heart of Fluence tone. From this Fluence Core Fishman then creates the classic timbres and tone—colors you expect from great guitar pickups—as well as some you've never expected. Everything you hear is true.
A simplified control panel includes a 3-way blade switch and a single Master Volume. Black Hardware includes a custom Pro tuning machines and a Legator Brass Tune-o-matic Bridge which will stabilize intonation through even the most aggressive shredding. Case not included.

- Comfortable Body
- Great Stock Pickups
- Unfinished Neck
- Only 22 frets
Borrowed the guitar from a friend a little while back. I'm usually a Floyd Rose user but wanted something non-floyd for a more rock track.
Amazing guitar! The neck is the best point. Smooth as silk and flawless. Unfinished too, hate painted necks. Nice and thin but not too thin so I could dig into those bends. Stock Legator pickups were very warm and punchy with nice presence. Great for leads and rhythm. Beautiful finish on the guitar too and it's actually neck through which sustains for days! Thinner body which was very comfortable to play and still had warm and big tone.
