  • Description

The Epiphone MB-100 open back 5-string banjo is the perfect traveling banjo and an ideal first instrument for players interested in bluegrass and stringband music. Open back banjos are appreciated for being lightweight (easy on the shoulder!) and for their unique, mellow tone. Epiphone’s founder Epi Stathopoulo’s first patent was for a banjo and Epiphone has always been at the forefront of banjo design, setting trends, and leading the industry in making affordable quality instruments.

The Epiphone MB-100 features a mahogany body with a classic Remo banjo head. The 26.25” traditional mahogany neck has a rosewood dot fingerboard for easy playing and a full and balanced tone. The MB-100 has a Natural color finish just like Epi’s vintage banjos! Vintage banjos suffer from the wear and tear of a century of playing and the hardware often shows the most wear. Epiphone’s nickel tuners are designed at Epiphone in Nashville, TN and provide solid tuning and reliability. Case not included.

    Comments about Epiphone MB-100 Banjo:

Theres only two things Ive found not up to par with this banjo- playing down the neck will leave notes vary sharp and the neck to pot weight makes playing a little difficult at times. Overall its great for a beginner but as your ear and playing improve you will want a better instrument.
