The Dunlop Straplok® System is the strap retainer designed with the artist in mind. 360º groove and ball design allows the unit to rotate without catching. The case hardened steel skin guarantees long life. The same strap can be used with several guitars, as the strap button is interchangeable. The dual design features a wider flange button that provides extra security.

Comments about Dunlop Sls1031n Nickel Dual Design Straplock System:

For those who may not have used a strap lock device, this device installs in two "halves," if you will: one portion is installed on the strap by mounting through the strap holes and securing with an e-clip, then replacement of your strap buttons on the guitar (or bass, mandolin, whatever) with a dual purpose type that can either hold a regular strap or accept the strap lock mechanism you just installed on your strap. This is an important feature, because some strap lock systems are nearly impossible to use with a generic strap if you forget your locking strap at home or the rehearsal hall. Not so here. Any strap will work with these strap buttons, but it's obviously best with the locking one!

You mount strap to guitar by depressing a small button on the strap end and inserting it onto the guitar end, then releasing the button to lock. This locks three bearings into a channel inside the strap button which can then swivel but will not come out until you again depress the button to remove it.

I have used Dunlop strap locks for literally decades and for, again, literally thousands of performances, practices, and just playing for fun and have never... I'll say it again, never... had a failure. They just work and work and work. Yes, the finish will wear over the years, just like it does on the guitar to which it's connected. But they will keep your strap reliably connected to your guitar with absolutely minimal upkeep for the life of the strap, and possibly the life of the guitar. If you want to keep your precious instrument in one piece and off the floor, buy and use this product.

I don't generally play on inexpensive guitars or basses. I'm not an instrument snob, it's just that good instruments cost good money. This product costs a forth the price of a good strap. In professional live guitar playing circles, use of sturdy and quickly swappable strap locks are a given. I wouldn't use an electric guitar or bass in regular live performance without them.
