Electro-Voice Q series amplifiers offer a minimum of 30% Dynamic Headroom above rated output power, high efficiency and legendary pro audio performance.

With 2 x 1200 W @ 4 Ohms and 2 x 1800 W @ 2 Ohms, the Q1212 offers the horsepower to challenge the legendary P3000. It provides the same power from a 2 RU chassis at modest weight, making it a perfect subwoofer or high-power top drive for Phoenix, Tour X and Zx3/Zx5 systems or system combination.

The comprehensive protection system includes circuitry against overheating, overload, short circuit, HF and DC as well as back-EMF and inrush current. Loudspeakers are protected by turn-on-delay delays. The built-in patented LPN (Low-Pass-Notch) filter compensates for transient distortion in dynamic signals (such as kickdrums) to achieve a higher acoustic output and more punch.

Features:

•  Designed for Club Sound, Concert Sound, House of Worship, Performance & Sports Venues, Pro Music, and other applications.
•  Up to 2 x 2400 W into 2 ohms
•  XLR pass-though input connections
•  The NL4 connection on output A also carries output B on pins +/- 2 to allow easy connection to bi-amped loudspeakers
•  Switchable LPN filter extra tonal fundamentals and “kick” with a protective low-cut for 12” or 15” loudspeakers without additional subwoofers
•  Class-H design
•  Three-stage front-to-rear fans
•  Complete protection package
•  Classic EV amplifier dynamic headroom for real-world music and applications
•  Built-in dynamic limiters

Comments about Electro-Voice Q1212 Power Amplifier:

I purchased three Q1212 amps from Sam Ash in Nashville, as I am going back into Mobile DJ work after 27 years in the Army, serving as an Apache Attack Helicopter Pilot.

I use three, only in big rooms, Gym's Convention Center's, with eight EV-TX1181 subs, four EV-TX1122 tops and two EV-TX1152 tops. All processed with an EV-DCONE. The amp has tremendous power with the dual power rail, class H design. It also still has a power supply which makes it much more musical than the class D and H amps that took out the power supply, however you do pay a weight penalty at 39 lbs.

I just played a School event with one Q1212 amp, DC-ONE processor and four TX-1181 subs on one amp channel and two TX-1122 tops on the other channel. Yes four 18" subs on one channel, 1.8 to 2 ohms for 3 hours, controlling the peaks to max 0 db, but mostly -10 db.

The sound was great and clean. The amp never got hot, the fans did run but the air exiting was warm and upon shutdown the fans cut off in less than 2 minutes of music end.

For the money these amps are the best on the market, only draw back is weight, however that weight buys you the transient response and low impediance stability that most remember from the old , power supply on-board amps!!

Comments about Electro-Voice Q1212 Power Amplifier:

I bought 3 EV-Q1212's from Sam Ash in Nashville to go back into Mobile DJing (after 26 years in the Army). In my area all the DJ's were using powered speakers, or under powering thier passive speakers. The sound was horrible, as they were trying to produce loud sound without reguard to tone and quality, while trying to play in rooms to large or with to many people.

The three EV-Q1212 amps married to a DCONE, four EV-TX1181 subs, two EV-TX1152 tops and two EV-TX1122 tops can play large rooms with chest thumping base and crystal clear mids and highs, with no hint of distortion.

The only draw back to the Q1212's are the weight, at 39 lbs each. However the performace and price will make you do the lifting, as a comparable CP4000 cost as much as two or more Q1212s.

Comments about Electro-Voice Q1212 Power Amplifier:

This amp is great. I recently did a shoot out with this amp against a RMX5050. I expected the QSC to be substatialy better, but wanted to hear how close this amp could get, being that it's lighter and draws less power. We tested both amps on sub duty, since that's what I was shopping for. Let me just say WOW! Both me and the guy doing the demo both prefered the Q1212. The subs sounded more musical and had about the same output. I guess EV isn't lying when they say their amps have 30% headroom built in. This amp is a true no brainer if you're looking for a good amp at a good price. This amp is priced less than both the RMX4050H and the RMX5050, draws less power, weighs less, and is only 2 rack spaces. Take a listen for yourself. It's impressive.
