Just received my light burst today and was stunned by how beautiful this guitar is. Bought on line and was worried about buying a guitar without playing it first but it arrived in excellent condition and after tuning it up plugged into my fender amp and put it through a workout. Sustain was solid. Clean sounds are crisp. The unmistakable voice of a Les Paul. Then for comparison I plugged in my main guitar for past 25 years ( music man Steve Morse, a versatile guitar if there ever was one) same settings on amp and put it through a workout. The Paul's pickups are warmer and the guitar is easier to play, and I am very at home on the music man. Bottom line, I am glad to have this traditional 2016 plain top Les Paul in my collection. Looking forward to recording with it. A beautiful instrument and the price point was decent. No reason in the world to pay $2,500.00 or more for a Les Paul if your a player. That being said it will be quite some time before this guitar gets taken to a live gig and will in fact be sticking with the Steve Morse which is like a Strat on steroids and has many hours of gigs under the hood. Don't hesitate, get this Gibson if your in the market for one and into the traditional look and vibe. The non weight relief was also a factor for me as I did not want a guitar with a bunch of unnecessary holes drilled in it. For my studio work I play sitting down anyway.

Heritage Cherry Sunburst guitar arrived today.

Looks and plays as well as - or BETTER than - my Les Pauls from the 1970s or 1980s. Finish is flawless and awesome looking - much better than I expected for a guitar advertised as a 'Plain-Top'. The guitar in 'real life' looks much better than the photos on the web site. The maple top does have some visual interest in the wood and is book-matched perfectly.

Heavy, like a Les Paul should be, and sustains for days through both my Valvetrain Amps and my old '60s Bassman. (I guess that's the 'limited' part of the traditional - as many of the traditional without 'limited' in the product description seem to be weight relieved)! Can't find this guitar on the Gibson site; but, that's fairly common too.

Like the fact that there are traditionally soldered volume and tone controls (Gibson plug and play) and the pickups are the Classic 57s (plus in the bridge) Love these pickups again they remind me of the guitars I played 40 years ago: warm and creamy, clear when you want it, and standup - raise the hair on the back of your neck when ya need it.
