Comments about Latin Percussion LP271 Tambora:

i have studied the dominican tambora for years, and I found a very unique sound of the dominican tambora.
Lp has done a good job on the construction side but the LP lacks the true sound of the dominican tombora..
On the other hand LP does not mention the fundamental tone of theirs disgn or frequency (tone) range, wich it will help to better understand the desired tuning..I believe LP should crarify some particular data on theirs instrument.
As a Dominican we can ID the sound by heart, to us the LP lower possible pitch is too high . There is three diferente dominican tuning for our tambora.(linked to our taste and culture). lately one more tuning has been added wich the Lp is very appropiated for. However the deep "cultura" sound of the dominican tambora can not be achieved with a LP .The beater length and diameter is not the proper one.(it must be bigger diameter and slitly shorter).
