The Gibson J-15 dreadnought is a descendant of iconic heritage that delivers versatile performance.

The eye-catching Gibson J-15 Acoustic Electric Guitar builds on the traditional foundation of Gibson’s iconic J-45. This new round-shouldered future classic is handcrafted in Gibson's Bozeman, Montana facility exclusively from North American solid tonewoods.

The top of the J-15 is made from Sitka spruce, while the back and sides are constructed from American walnut, giving the this Gibson a warm, low end with ringing, harmonically rich treble response, capable of achieving a pure dynamic contrast, which makes it the perfect acoustic for just about any musical genre. The Gibson J-15 features a hand-sprayed nitrocellulose lacquer finish to allow the wood to “breathe” to maximize tonality. The neck is carved from maple, and features a Walnut fingerboard with tradtional-style mother-of pearl dot inlays.

At the heart of the Gibson J-15 Acoustic Electric guitar is the LR Baggs Element preamp system, letting you amplify your guitar quickly and easily. Chrome hardware includes nickel Grover 14:1 mini-tuners. Gibson hardshell case included.

Comments about Gibson J-15 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Iw as in the market for an Acoustic Electric. Looking in the $1000 to $1500 range. Never considered a Gibson. I did alot of research on Taylors and Martins in that price range and have taken instore test drives of those brands for some time. I never considered a Gibson because the only Gibson I was interested in was out of my price range. I was ready to buy and was in Sam Ash playing the two models I thought I had narrowed it down to. The sales person asked me if I tried the J-15. I said no and he said they had just gotten one in and he went to the back and brought it out. Fresh out of the box. He quickly tuned it up and I strummed one chord and thought OMG. He explained the specs of this guitar to me and I couldn't believe it. An all solid wood USA made guitar for under $1500 from Gibson. This guitar had perfect set up out of the box. Tone is well balanced. More base response than the Taylor or Martin in this price range along plenty of mids and treble. Sustains well too. The L.R. Baggs element pickup in this is outstanding. Tone is subjective but if you are in the market for a new acoustic/electric this one is well worth the test drive.

Comments about Gibson J-15 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Need to replace my Gibson Gospel, which is deteriorating from poor care. Was happy to see Gibson offering a model within reach of my budget. The sound and feel did not disappoint. I love this guitar!

Attention: do not judge the sound of this guitar until you replace the strings. Sounded horrible as shipped, but once I put my brand on (D'Addario EJ16) it sang!

Comments about Gibson J-15 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The best you can buy in this price range. The American woods really add personality and beautiful tones. The woods are cheaper than shipped mahogany, keeping the price on the low end for a Gibson. If you're looking for your first high end guitar, or one to add to your collection, this one is a must have.
