The Tama Imperialstar is a great kit for players of all ages and skill levels. This kit also comes complete with stands and cymbals, making it the perfect starter set.

With over 40 years in the business, Tama knows exactly what drummers want. A quality kit that isn't going to put them in the poor house. Keeping this in mind, Tama built the Imperialstar to deliver outstanding tonal quality at a price anyone can afford. Seriously, this may be the most affordable drum set to ever incorporate so many high-end features. Every aspect of these drums was meticulously examined, reexamined, and then improved upon before it was considered worthy of carrying the Tama name. This is exactly why you can enjoy these drums as a complete novice or a seasoned pro.

This kit was designed to fit the needs of today's players. The modern sizes give these drums a wider tuning range with added tonal clarity, making it incredible versatile. The 6-ply, 7.5mm, 100% Poplar drum shells deliver a full, warm tone with a medium attack and a bold, loud personality. These drums also have precision cut bearing edges which allow them resonate fully while providing a wide tuning range and incredible response. Sizes are…

  • 18"x22" Bass Drum
  • 5"x14" Snare Drum
  • 9"x12" Tom
  • 14"x16" Floor Tom

These drums also feature fully glued finishes which eliminates warping, buzzing or lifting. This process takes more work, but allows the shell to resonate fully which makes an audible difference. Another way Tama improves the tone and resonance of these drums is with their new lug design. The Imperialstar lugs are 10% smaller than those of their previous kits. This decreases the amount of weight on the shell, allowing the drum to really breathe.

To compliment this killer set of drums, Tama is giving you a set of Meinl "HCS" cymbals to go along with it. These cymbals have a lively sound with excellent stick definition. The heavier weights and larger bells of these new cymbals offer brighter sounds, higher pitch and cut way more than their predecessors. This kit includes a pair of 14" hi-hats, a 16" crash, and a 20" ride.

As if all of this wasn't enough, this kit also comes with a full set of Tama Stage Master double-braced hardware. This includes a MTH900B double tom holder, HH35W hi-hat stand, HS30W snare stand, HC33BW boom cymbal stand, HC32W straight cymbal stand, HT25 drum throne, and an Iron Cobra 200 bass drum pedal.

The Tama Iron Cobra 200 is a great variation of everybody’s favorite pedal. This single chain driven pedal has many of the same features you’ve come to know and love about the original Iron Cobra. It features the same power glide cam, para clamp, dual sided beater, adjustable beater angle, adjustable spring tension and spring tight. The power glide cam is Tama’s most popular cam design. This gives you unrivaled speed and power as well as an incredibly smooth stroke. The para clamp provides rock solid stability that guarantees to hold up for even the heaviest hitters. The dual sided beater allows you to choose between the heavy, sharp attach of a hard plastic beater or the warmer, open tones of a felt beater. The adjustable beater angle really allows you to set this pedal up any way you want. The adjustable spring tension and spring tight locking mechanism guarantee precise and stable settings.

Comments about Tama Imperialstar 4-Piece Drum Set w/ Cymbals & Hardware, Hairline Blue:

The Tama Imperialstar is a fantastic kit for the price. It comes with hardware and cymbals - and they are wonderful cymbals and hardware. Tama is known for, among other things, their fantastic quality hardware. The kit comes with Meinl HCS cymbals, one of the best entry level cymbals. The 6-ply Poplar shells really sound great straight out of the box. This kit is one of the best values you'll be able to find!

Comments about Tama Imperialstar 4-Piece Drum Set w/ Cymbals & Hardware, Hairline Blue:

TAMA chose poplar to create the shells for this Imperialstar kit, and you'll immediately notice the full, warm tone. Poplar is known for having a medium attack, a solid foundation for many different styles that's neither too bold or too soft. Thanks to TAMA's precision bearing edges, Imperialstar drum shells ring fully and provide a wider tuning range, with enhanced sensitivity and response. Your bearing edges have a big impact on how your drums sound and how well they perform over the years, so it's nice to know that TAMA didn't make any compromises when it came to these critical components. And you should never have to worry about buzzing, warping, or lifting of the wrapped finish - it's glued to the shell 100 percent for maximum contact, unlike some drum shell wrapped finishes which are spot-glued. This leads to more consistent resonance and more open tone.
            This set comes with a 14" x 18" bass drum, 8" x 12" rack tom,14" x 14" floor tom and a 5" x 14" matching snare drum.

Comments about Tama Imperialstar 4-Piece Drum Set w/ Cymbals & Hardware, Hairline Blue:

Tama has always concerned itself with being current with what drummers want. They sometimes take risks on colors, and designs, but you got to love a company who's out to start trends and not just simply follow them.

The Imperialstar stood the test of times and continues to be the best starter pack on the market. The four piece set up not only keeps the pricetag down, but most current drummers would just end up ditching the second tom anyway, so why pay for something you don't intend to use?!

Their shells always sound great. Heaps of bottom end, loads of punch, great resonance and can be tuned up very well straight out of the box. To compliment their drums, Tama designs hardware to take the abuse of being a gigging drummer. Their hardware are built like tanks! On top of high quality drums, tough-as-nails hardware, are the addition for Meinl's cymbals. A
German born percussion company, who just like Tama, continues to push the envelope of the percusssion world with innovative instruments, sounds, quality, and of course, pricetags!! A perfect marriage if you ask me. But seriously, try one for yourself.
