Comments about Ibanez SR700 Bass Guitar:

This is a great bass with low, fast action and a very balanced and comfortable feel. I own a Rick and a Steinberger and while the sounds of both of those basses are unique, for playability and overall tone control, I will take my 700 any day. My style is anything from rock, to progressive, to some slap. I like to play fast, melodic riffs, so the speed of the fingerboard was also important to me. Mine is yellow and the color looks great "in the flesh". I give the bass a workout and it has held up well while playing out at clubs. This bass is also very light compared to my others and I am not completely worn out after a 3 hour gig. My only complaint is that the battery connector for the 9 volt for the active pickups is cheap and I tore it open trying to change batteries during a show. I repaired it, but now have to treat it gently. That is the only reason I did not give the bass 5 out of 5 stars.

Comments about Ibanez SR700 Bass Guitar:

I use this bass on gigs due to it's beautiful looks (the Amber,) the variety of sounds from the Bartolinis, the ease of play from the small neck, and the slim feel of the body. Though some of the frets do buzz with very low action, it's really not heard live with a good amp and can be adjusted for by your style of attacking the strings. You can also simply raise the action and eliminate all buzz and the action is still relatively low. The fret buzz is not enough of an issue to merit not giving this bass a 5.

Comments about Ibanez SR700 Bass Guitar:

I love the way this bass has soo much "slap appeal"!!I recommend this bass to all jazz or funk bassists yu will love the tone.My only hang up on it is the high E buzzes on plucks, other than that is a good bass, lightweight for standing at long "jam sessions",beautifily crafted.

Comments about Ibanez SR700 Bass Guitar:

For being such an inexpensive bass, this really plays well. I had never TOUCHED an Ibanez just because so many Metal players use them, that I figured they were garbage. I was pleasantly surprised. It actually plays better than my Warwick $$ Corvette!!! The action is perfect, although there is a bit of fret buzz. I'm confident that with a neck adjustment, it will be fine. Great for all of the slapping and popping I love to do. Plays fast and the thinner neck is awesome. SOOOOO much better than a lower grade Fender Jazz or really anything else in it's price range!

Comments about Ibanez SR700 Bass Guitar:

Just arrived today[...] and is still thawing out a bit. Finish is stunning, the amber is closer to an orange than a yellow, but not too close to either to be annoying. Woods are exceptional (neck, top, body) action is low and so far so good, played for just a few minutes, but "super punchy" comes to mind. Perhaps a bit on the trebly end, but I need to work with it some more to better comment on tone. So, out of the box very happy. Will return after a few weeks to complete review.
