Comments about Ibanez GSR200 Electric Bass Guitar:

My son plays drums, guitar, and bass. We got him his first bass when he just turned 10, a 3/4 scale. On his twelfth birthday we upgraded him to a full scale. He tried out a lot of basses, and decided on this Ibanez. It's light and sleek enough to where it's still comfortable for his 12-year-old frame, yet a full size bass. I tried it out, it plays great! I asked him to use it while recording a demo, and it sounded awesome, no annoying buzz. It really is comparable to the higher end Ibanez basses, as the bassist in my band has a higher end Ibanez, and commented that my son's played and sounded as well as his did. For a bass in this price range, I'd highly recommend this.

Comments about Ibanez GSR200 Electric Bass Guitar:

I got this for my son to learn the bass on, it plays well and sounds great, I did have to file the fret ends as the fret board has shrunk some but other than that it has been great as a learning bass. Not the same caliber as my Spector but still a good bass.
      P.S.
I got one for myself as well and the same concern with sharp fret wires so just be aware and don't live with it fix it or have it fixed you will be happier with it afterwards

Comments about Ibanez GSR200 Electric Bass Guitar:

I played bass 20 years ago in a traveling band then switched to guitar and sold my old bass. I have tons of guitars but no bass (until I bought this one). I bought it for the low price with active electronics. Out of the box, the battery compartment was lined with white gunky stuff so I had to clean that out. I'm not impressed with the electronics at all. I experience a lot of crackles and sudden volume and tone changes without touching the controls. The bass feels good, it's light, and the neck feels great. Unfortunately, I'm returning it due to the inconsisteny in volume and tone.

Comments about Ibanez GSR200 Electric Bass Guitar:

Bought the black one off the rack at a friend's music store as a temporary bass while i was rehabbing my '83 G&L SB-2, which i love dearly. This little guy with a bit of twekn' has turned out to be a very nice playing & sounding bass. I was quite surprised by it all! As most of the other owners are saying, fret bzzz is #1 enemy here. Throw some light gauge on, nothing over a "95" top(E), find a good guitar dude to adjust it. ENJOY, ENJOY!!

Comments about Ibanez GSR200 Electric Bass Guitar:

This bass should only be considered as a very first bass guitar that a beginner would play. It's playing quality is very low, but that's assumable because of it's low price as well. It's good to pick up this guitar at first, but if you want to become a serious bass player you will definitely need to upgrade.

well i got this bass from a pawn shop so i went out and got some rotosound flat strings and cleaned the neck and it sounds amazing
ive had it for a year and a half and the only thing it could maybe use is a bit better pick ups but the range of styles is very good for an intermediate bass

Comments about Ibanez GSR200 Electric Bass Guitar:

Out of the box, it had some fret buzz, but a Sam Ash technician in Nashville and his magic hands switched out the strings (to Ernie Balls), fine tuned the frets, and made it sound just fantastic!

It's my perfect road guitar. Plays great, but it's not so costly that you have to worry every time an airline or TSA employee gets near it.
